Tudor BB58 blue on launch day, new card.
Rolex sub 114060 mid August, new card. My understanding was that AD’s were to exchange with Rolex the stock of old cards for their inventory and receive new cards for those watches. |

To everyone commenting about their new watches coming with new cards, this thread is specifically about 2020 releases. And then only specifically those that come with old cards. 2020 release watches with new cards? Not interesting. Watches released before 2020 with either new or old cards? Not interesting. Specifically interested in 2020 releases with old cards.

Not sure what the issue is with warranty cards and why it is such a topic of conversation, it has absolutely no impact on the warranty of the watch so why does it matter?

It's probably an indication of how long the AD has had the watch or something idk.

Basel canceled “last minute”. Rolex had new model stock ready that was put away. Many watches reaching the shops now were made before they changed the cards!

Old warranty cards on 2020 releases
Quote:
Yes, some 2020 new releases had the old warranty card issued and ready to send or were sent to ADs prior to COVID. I bought a watch from my AD recently and had to wait a few days for pickup as the old warranty card was being exchanged by Rolex for the new card. This was for ALL the watches he had in stock...new 2020 release and old models...everything in stock had cards swapped out. My AD is in the NY/NJ area. I hope this answers your question. I bought the 2020 Bluesy 126613lb in September and was given the old style card. After I had paid for the watch, we started to talk about life in general. It was a friendly banter and I built rapport with the sales assistant.
Then, without even asking she told me I was extremely lucky as this was the first 126613lb to arrive at the AD straight from Geneva and they had received it on the 09/09/20 with a bunch of other new releases, which is the very day I called to inquire about it. None of their existing clients had claimed it yet since the announcement, so I was first to see it. The sales assistant was quite senior and she came across as honest and genuine overall, I think she was telling the truth. So I doubt they'd received the watch several months ago. I was surprised about the old style card, I even started my own thread, not knowing there was already this one! Going through the entire thread, it seems many were given new style cards with pre-2020 models, which is even more puzzling. I have no idea what the logic is with the old or new style cards TBH. |
