I freaking love the new Sub. Rolex gave me everything I wanted in a new Submariner. I was highly skeptical of the 41mm but it's clearly a non issue. Guess I've gotten used to my Deepsea because my BLRO looks tiny next to it and a .5mm actual increase in the new Sub is damn near imperceptible to reality.
Thank you Rolex.

Honestly, hope there are more exaggerating haters of the new models, maybe that will make these easier to buy.

Actually, you may be onto something. More wonky lens and perspective manipulating pics needed.

As other's have said, my issue is the clasp. The previous iteration clasp was already quite large and the max for my 6.5" wrist

I won't complain about .1mm off but I will certainly complain when they blatantly lie about watches like the Datejust 41 (39.2mm)

This is disappointing as I really was hoping for a true 41mm size for the new Sub. However the small increase in diameter is nice and the 1mm jump in bracelet width is a huge plus. Can't wait to try one on.

This would be amazing. I'd love if everyone would just collectively hate a model I like, so I can actually get it

I'm still asking around for OP41 measurements to be shown in pictures. Not sure why these new owners can't oblige us

Well that's up to you but cannot see why, myself have been around Rolex watches for over 50 years. And this new weight measure stuff has only started over the past 5 years I sometimes wonder why some by Rolex watches perhaps only to moan about their miniscule size.difference.

Maybe how long 1mm is should be standardized. :)

Yes in real life and on the wrist the difference in diameter is tiny and not noticeable.
I still say that it could have been be with less heaviness...not convinced by the wider strap in 21 and its buckle.

It is therefore indeed a historic turning point, 40mm format and thinner strap are no longer...keep them warm !

Another video measured the new sub diameter to be 40.6mm. Different person using different vernier calipers will yield different results. There’s a reason why Rolex has marketed it as 41mm and not 40mm, it is indeed bigger.

I don't take issue with Rolex marketing, more people on here overreacting as most of us knew it wasnt a full mm anyway

Afraid today many of today's Rolex owners love to make mountains out of molehills.

I too find this ironic.

Not a lot of talk about the new movement.

Not a lot of talk about what an achievement it is for a fairly simple watch to have a run for this many years and stay fairly true to its roots.

But I guess that would be boring.

Stay safe.

Well Peter I'm a big fan of yours when it comes to Rolex/Tudor knowledge and love your posts. We can simply agree to disagree on the DJ41 specifically because I don't see 1.8mm being miniscule. They are reporting a watch as nearly 5% larger than it actually is. A ~2 mm difference in diameter makes a HUGE difference in how it looks on the wrist. Anyone who has tried both the DJII and DJ41 will tell you how obviously smaller the 41 wears. It was too big a difference for me so I stuck with my II.

As for the Sub I think the wider bracelet is more important than the slightly larger case. I'm very happy for both increases. I have a "true 41" Tudor GMT and 41 is a fantastic size for a sport watch IMO.

Thanks and I am glad you like my posts on what this forum was started for the history of the Rolex brand. And again when it come down to watches even 1.8mm is minuscule.Myself have never felt the need to measure size, or weight of any watch I was going to buy or already own.

Very keen observation.

To some, hype seems to be valued above substance; "I don't care about the new movement with 70 hr power reserve but Ima gonna hate on the 0.3 mm size increase!"

I thought this was a helpful photo in relation to the lug size.
