Loupes and new watches don’t go so well together; each to its own!

It helped they had a watchmaker on site as he did the job, not the SA. Other than that I wear the heck out of it, I stare at it all the time and think to myself "fu***** he**, what a piece"...
That’s not weird...

Bought my first Rolex in Vegas while on vacay. I remember putting the box and papers in the safe and getting dressed up for a night out for dinner with my wife. She had to tell me to "stop smiling already" in the elevator of the Wynn. Maybe to some it's not, but to me it was an accomplishment. I still stare at it constantly till this day. There is nothing like that first Rolex.

Heck I even kept it on after dinner back at the Hotel when it was go time !

I'll agree wth this to a point.

I've always taken what I'd consider exemplary care of my things. This is something I learned as a youngster from my father. For example, my vehicle is always well turned out. Clean inside and out. If I'm unfortunate and collect a door ding I have it repaired as soon as possible. I show the same level of care to my guitars, motorcycles, camera equipment and of course watches.

Yep. I wear a watch daily. It's a rare occasion I leave the house without one. And once in a while I *DO* oogle. I enjoy looking at my 11 year old motorcycle for example knowing there probably isn't one in existence in better condition. (Unless it's a showpiece)

This kind of diligence does take a level of effort but to me it's worth it.

"Take care of your sh*t" was a lesson I learned many years ago.

Put 3M clear bra on the clasp so it won't get banged up.

Well many threads here on people discovering “imperfections” due to macro shots, loupe inspections etc which are really not visible with the naked eye. If not visible with naked eye would not be concerned in my case, not OCD with those things. As said before each to its own!
