Yes agreed! Just a little unsure if it could perhaps be the angles of the watch captured in the pics? Appreciate your input! Thanks!

Thanks everyone for your input! I appreciate your time! I’m still a little confused as there have been some mixed opinions so far. Haven’t really had the chance to compare two of the same examples side by side.

Nowadays everyone is claiming that their watch is unpolished. It takes experience to tell whether indeed the watch is unpolished.

Could you explain how the polishing is bad?

I'm a newbie and currently in search of a 16710 so it would be great to learn more about how to tell a bad from a good polish.
The watch in question looked great to me, but guess it shows how much I know lol

I own two LV Submariners, an 2004 F serial which was serviced by Rolex London (service stickers still attached) and one of the last an M serials unpolished. Therefore, I would say the watches are from both sides of the spectrum with regards to production dates. Both watch do not have chamfers. IMO strong factory chamfers are not so evident with watches from this era. More of a vintage four digit Submariner characteristic than five.

Curious what makes you think that? If that's a true concern OP will need a close-up of the movement. And even with a genuine movement it could be a Franken. Buy the seller as they say.

Hi also curious why you think that, looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

However, I am pretty sure it is authentic as it’s sold from a reputable dealer and comes with warranty card and service papers+service card from RSC with matching serial. So I am less concerned about the authenticity of the watch but more concerned about buying a piece that’s as close to original condition as possible.

Hi, I believe authenticity of the watch in question is authentic as the it’s sold from a reputable dealer but will be interesting to hear why some may think it’s a fake just on aesthetics alone. Am just more concerned about the condition and amount of polish at the moment.

Hi thanks for sharing! Would love to hear your thoughts on the watch in question? Are the lugs similar to the two pieces you currently have in your possession? Thanks!

It’s going to need welding after that polish.

I’d be upset that there are blue lines on the case.

Be skeptical about unpolished. Tons of watches going for a laser welding to make consumers think their watches are untouched.

No.
That’s them, the non cyclops is the Rolex serviced F serial. Before-anyone mentions or asks the crystal was fitted during the service as requested back in 2013. So, this watch could be a Rolex one off. The watch was only serviced due to dropping it on a ceramic floor (smashed crystal).
As, you can see the chamfers are very small on both. However, the serviced watch chamfers are a little stronger.

I went through this same process when buying an older watch. I knew it had been polished but what constitutes too much? I mainly focus on the crown guards and of course the lugs. In your example, they seem skinny but it is so hard to tell from pictures. Overall, it doesn't look bad?

Yeah it is a bit of a process but definitely worth taking the time to get the right example. I tried having a look at the video the store uploaded but proving a little difficult to determine if lugs / crown guards re too thin. Just trying to find the right example at the right price. Thanks for your input!
