I love patronizing shops with great customer service and I would bet you’ve done your part to establish this relationship as well. I would probably go date, given those two option, but is bluesy or tt black something you’re interested in?

ND for sure. As well balanced a dial as Rolex does.

My reaction on this is you seem to be spending tons of money, time and effort to get this stuff. Only you can say whether at the end of the day it is really worth it.

Right? There is the classic, timeless Rolex Submariner (which apparently you’ve never owned) and there’s the Submariner Date, which apparently you’ve owned 4 times.

Yeah, that’s why I said Submariner Date! Lol, little fun technicalities but yes, I’ve always known that one and to your point, from the first moment I saw the Submariner Date in the 70s, I could not imagine the version without the cyclops!!

You have the date option in the GMT so go for the basic Submariner and enjoy that no date symmetrical look.

124060. I had the exact same situation about 10 days ago. My collection is already redundant. Going all black sans date was the furthest departure from my green dial /bezel sub date. I look forward to your pics.

I for sure think the ND looks better than the sub date. But, I had to go with the sub date myself. It’s slightly embarrassing how often I actually use the date function on my watches. It’s honestly to the point I don’t know the date on any given day as anytime I’ve needed to know it, I’ve always been able to take one second and look down at my wrist. It’s a real lifesaver as it saves me from absolutely wasting 4 seconds to pull out my phone haha. But seriously, I LOVE having the date on my watches.
But personally I wouldn’t get either. I just can’t understand people who collect multiple watches of the same model, or even same brand. I just love diversity for the sake of experience all the amazing and different things available out there. Before getting a second sub, or even a third sub, I’d have already been grabbing something else like a GO SeaQ or Fifty Fathoms, etc. If that sounded like snobbery, I didn’t intend that one bit. I just find it interesting how differently people can enjoy a hobby or collecting stuff. |

Both are lovely, however I feel the no date just edges it.
Whether I’m wearing a date or no date watch that day, one glance at my phone in the morning tells me the date that day. You only have 1/2 digits to remember and even with a bad memory that’s not difficult. Enjoy. |

That’s great you have a nice relationship with your AD but let’s not get too carried away with the family analogy. You paid hard earned money and bought some stuff from them. And they want to sell more and you want to buy. Sounds good. If the AD was really treating you like family you’d get it gratis as a Christmas gift. Think you might.
