Dec 2019: EUR 16.8k
Jan 2020: EUR 19.6k
July 2020: EUR 21.0k

If there is another 7%-8% increase that will mean approx. 33% increase compared to Dec 2019, which is quite a lot.

Hmm. That’s substantial. I’m guessing their data guys are telling them there’s room for more increases.

Looks like approx 7% increase across the board? The 26315 chrono is now 28.1k USD. Was 26.3k with last increase and 23.8K I believe as recent as a year ago!

Prices are now reflected in USD. Definitely not good news for anybody waiting for something. Interesting to see they increased the price of the Codes as well. I feel they're in a rock and a hard place there. Demand was certainly starting to take shape, but if they kept the Code prices where they were at, AP is basically admitting defeat.

Or is gold goes to 10k (not likely any time soon), then code gets bailed out on material value alone! I do think medium run though, the hotness of the AP brand will lift the prestige to the code line for new watch buyers who have not been in the game before. So the buyers who turn say 30 in the next 5 years looking for their first nice watch.

No price increase on HK website. Weird if there's been a US price increase

That's weird as HKD is pegged to USD

33% increase is crazy, and it's been going into the mid 20s (for non blue dials) even before this increase anyway

Yah. The premium on the blue is still at insane highs; 30k roughly for a 15450. Heard people purchased a 15450 2 years back for 13k ..

yep 34k for blues right now. i tried to get a 15450 last year and had no luck so i went grey in december. got it for 19.3k (white dial) days before the price increase. very lucky because people just expected the 15450 to go up 8-10% like the others and not 20

Everything is insane right now. It's a combination of short supply that has not recovered from the Covid shutdowns, heightened demand, excess money, and the continued ease at which the market is manipulated by dealer/flipping activity.

I tend to think things will stabilize soon, but I'm done playing prognosticator. If you would have told me back in April that 15450 blues are $35k and 15500 blues are nearing $40k, I would have fallen to the ground in laughter.

Yes, give or take couple of hundred depending on the location, in my case within Europe.
Interesting thing that the prices in Germany are lower compared to Italy or Spain.
And the purchasing power in Germany is higher.

I agree it is completely crazy. 33% will be with the new increase, if it happens in the range of 7% to 8%.
Right now the retail price of 15450 is 25% more expensive compared to end of Dec 2019.

Makes me wonder if AP is really worth 11K more than a similar configuration DJ41.

I think that the prices for luxury watches in the range of 20+ K€ are not bound to the "general" purchasing power in a country. Actually, there might be a higher demand for such luxury products in Spain or Italy and, actually, at certain "income levels" people earn more money in Italy or Spain than in Germany working in comparable jobs and positions ;-)

At its 2019 price, I was seriously considering the 15450 (if I could get it at MSRP). Now, I'm not even going to try. Just turned off by the cash grab.

I live in Toronto and I can't find what the price of the 15500or is on bracelet can someone let me know what it is in USD ? The dealers here say until they have a watch in their possession they don't know the MSRP. And for some strange reason on the AP website they don't display the prices in Cad dollars

So only USD was increased? I see the 15500st is now $21800usd, anyone remember previous price?

Strange they didn’t increase Asia prices as they are way lower than those in Europe..

Ive said this before, it is a slippery slope. Right now the brand is hot, will it be able to maintain it? If it can’t, there will be massive devaluation of the brand and I hope they (and we) dont find out the hard way.

With less ADs they can control supply better than before if demand falls when they had to cut prices and cut dealer margin to limit the discounting.

i would agree back when this was all starting for rolex/AP but now it's pretty obvious they're all controlling supply to create hype. this definitely isn't a natural bubble anymore imo. hermes was doing this with birkin bags way before the watch brands started it

I'm tired. Really tired.

This year has been rough.

The lack of major launches has been rough.

And the constant price increases this year despite it all has been exhausting.

I agree it’s exhausting but I do feel this is the new normal. AP, Rolex, Patek will remain a caustic combination of restricted supply, social media hype, and limited access. Can all 3 keep it up? I’m afraid it’s very possible they can, and will. At least with maintaining specific hot models.

why would you even entertain the 15450 at this point when you can buy a 15500 for a mere thousand dollars more? pricing strategy litterally makes zero sense.
