I agree that those are certainly beautiful watches, but they both retail north of $160k. A Legacy Machine Split Escapement will come in under the $100k limit (after tax).

You could spend 100.000 USD on 1 watch ...

I’ll limit my self to a watch that does not lose half of its value after I walk out of the AD with it.

For that reason,

Platinum Daytona, rainbow Daytona (don’t think is in budget) , Patek nautilus or AP royal oak.

26579CE - black ceramic perpetual calendar, although checking it's now $102k USD after the recent price bump. Just outside of the $100k limit!
The 26579CE was my first thought as well. The Pateks I like are either below or above the 100k mark. The Lange I like are all substantially below. So AP this time around...

I'm going with a Patek in this instance - might keep it simple with a 5712. That would basically check all the boxes for me...

Excellent point. Hey, it's only currency and trillions become available yearly for the taking

And in this case, imaginary currrency at that! I tried the LM2 in white gold with purple dial and it's stunning in the metal.

I´d go all time classics like a 3970 or a more modern sized 5270.

Zeitwerk Striking time, it lists a bit above OPs limit, but with my shrewd negotiations i think i can get it for 100k USD.

If my only watch, the Patek 5740. If to compliment my current collection, the RM67-02

FP Journe Chronomètre Optimum would be really nice

The Royal Oak Skeleton is stunning as well.

But if I go vintage I would pick a Patek 3970EP up

As opposed to all the other pointless and anachronistic wrist adornments? Mate, I love watches, you love watches, but they're all nothing more than socially-acceptable jewellery for men.

AP - Royal Oak perpetual calendar.
Ultra thin would be the ultimate choice, but over the 100K mark
