you only have 2 wrists. There's a difference between a collector, a hoarder, and an addict.

I think you answered your question. If you enjoy/wear them all and can afford to keep them all. There is no need to downsize IMO.

Wow thanks for sharing. For me the hardest part would be deciding what to wear if I had collection like that. I assume you have to plan out what to wear for the week or month.

Do you wear multiple watches in a day?

How many do you travel with?

I sold most of mine. It wasn’t due to any financial reason just wanted to simplify. I had 11 ss sport watches, and a tt date just. It consisted of the usual suspects: Daytona’s, subs, ym2, and gmt’s. I kept my mint 16710 Pepsi and a mint ss ceramic sub to give to my kids for college graduation. I bought a new dd40 for myself. Honestly I like being a one watch guy better. I actually felt sort of guilty for not wearing all of them. My only regret is not selling at the peak of the market but I didn’t lose money on any of them except the tt date just.
I actually really like my Apple Watch so I flip between the two.

Wow!!!! That collection is a bit overwhelming LOL
I have 4 now a 2020 Sub date, Explorer II polar, DJ41 and 19' Hulk. If I were to get my 5th it would only be a solid gold sub blue dial or gold day/date. I feel 4 is good for me...I'm not rich by any means but a collection of that size I'd have to reaccess my priorities LOL. Having said that KUDOS you and your collection brother!

Beautiful collection but that many would make me insane. I can manage my two Rolexes in a daily swap but can rarely manage to get one of my other 4, Seikos and such, into rotation.

For me, less is more and I would consolidate those 19 into 2-3 amazing grails. Great problem to have though for sure!

I had 14 watches and it started to feel ridiculous because I consistently wore the same two or three. It felt wasteful and I wanted to simplify. I sold everything and kept the three that I wear all the time. Absolutely no regrets, I’m much happier now.

I used to be much worse than that. Over 25+ pieces for many many years but you are very heavy on just a single brand which is kind of boring. All the watches are not that different and many are same models with just different colors.

If I was you I would consolidate as well. Smaller Rolex collection and branch out to other brands. I found I love other brands like AP, Glashuette and IWC and they provided me great enjoyment as much as my Rolex's did.

These days my collection is < 15. But I only have 6 Rolex's, some IWC, some AP and some Panerai.

I could never do a single brand again. Never.

Great Choice!,
Those would be my two but unfortunately out of my range.

What a collection! And not a bad one in the bunch. Which 1, 2 or 3 get the most wrist time?

Phenomenal collection! If you are to downsize, surely fifteen pieces has to be your target so they all fit nicely in the case?!

I have downsized and much prefer it that way.

You have a great colllection.... there is a bit of redundancy that would make it very easy for me to consolidate.

No plan but I also don’t just 3-4. I have changed watches up to 3 times in a day. They all get love.

I have sized up and down over the years and have found that I know when I need to make a move. I have a very good time with Seiko and buy/sell/trade a lot with them and I typically can get in and out with good value. I recently did some consolidating and went to four PM pieces, Rolex WG/YG Submariners and a WG/YG Daytona's. While I liked the watches they just did not do it for me based on the cost and the wear I was getting. So I moved the WG/YG Daytona's and the WG Submariner. Picked up a YG Sky-Dweller and a Blue and Black dial SS Sky-Dweller and a SS Daytona-C with the black dial. I will move the YG Submariner soon and pick up models from Grand Seiko, Omega, Tudor and Breitling. So adding more watches, not taking away. For me it has to do with value and wear. I do not care if I have two watches or in my case around 30, if the value is strong and I am enjoying myself. Depending on where you are a consolidation to PM might not solve your concerns with the numbers and may actually set off a selling buying frenzy to pickup what you traded or sold or miss. I would sit tight, enjoy, and a path will reveal itself. When in doubt, don't. Keep us posted on what you decide. Good luck.

Not redundant for me as my favorite line are the divers. I love variety and love my watches. If I were to move some watches, it would likely include some from my divers due to numbers.

You started the right thread! Your collection has HUGE potential for downsizing and upscaling! As of now it is more like Rolex AD’s display case should look like in our dreams than a personal watch collection :)
