For me personally, right at this moment? I would pick the Omega Planet Ocean, but I would get the 42mm size. All 3 brands are reliable and well made, so there is really no reason to do anything but buy the one you like best, there is no large advantage either way. The Explorer would be dressier than the other two, so if you are in an office environment, you might want to consider that. I am not sure the Explorer will be too small for a 6.5" wrist, but it's really all about you. I have a 7.5" wrist but do not like my watches to be too big. For example, even with dive watches, I prefer not to go much over 40mm. But I have tried on the Planet Ocean, both the 42 and 45 mm versions and they both wear well. Have fun buying your new watch.

No one is going to guess what I did! I actually took the PO. :-P This is surely the last poll anyone is going to vote on! I tried all three. The explorer was waaaay too small, I can see two links from each side of the dial on the top of my rist. It strangly wore smaller than the oysterquartz, probably because of the bracelet size or something. The SO was too big and wasn't BNIB, it was the PO that was BNIB. And that was not the reason that I bought the watch, it just fit me soo well! With the rubber/leather like strap. I loved it and literaly walked away with it. I was late for a movie and told him I will pick up the box tomorrow. Thanks guys for your help.

I went with the Breitling. I have owned the PO and I was somewhat disappointed with the accuracy. Not crazy about the EXP I (II is a different story). So by default-Breitling.

I would have taken none. That Explorer is tiny, the Omega is too large at 45mm, and the Breitling is...a Breitling, and 46mm.

I would have taken a full cash deal. None of those watches are really that enticing.

But congrats on your choice, it's the watch I would have taken out of that group.

In this choice, the Omega PO. I'm a big lad and can wear a larger watch, and with my eyes ageing, I prefer the more-legible dials like the Sub LV and the GMT IIc maxi dials. The smaller Exp I is just too hard for me to read at a glance, and I need a date function.

Out of the three choices there is no second thought, I would take the Explorer I hands down. It looks great on the wrist and in all situations!!!

If I'm not mistaken, the diameter of the sub dial and explorer dial is exactly the same. Only the case is bigger.

This was an interesting poll bc it compared apples to oranges to pears. The explorer is small compared to the others, but is the same size as the trillion datejusts sold to men since the beginning of watch time.

Explorer hands down. I have large watches and was hesitant even about the 40mm Rolexes. But once you wear them the realization comes quickly that there is a reason why most classical watches are between 36 and 40 and 44 is NOT the standard (for example Panerai) ...

That PO looks right at home on your wrist.

Congrats on the "purchase."

i think the planet ocean is the best watch of the 3. I have one, and it's my fav.
but at 45.5 mm - it might be too big for a 6.5 in wrist.

but, if you ever want to sell, the other 2 are probably worth a little more.

I recently chose the Rolex Air King over the Brietling Colt.

The guy called me and he wants his Omega back! He offered me a straight trade with the explorer which I actually like! Just not too sure about the size. It's a Y serial, what movement does it have? Plus I don't think he has the box, just a receipt.

I think I'm going for it!

Now you're just going for the name. You tried all of them on and quite-happily settled on the Omega.

Change the name of the thread to "Why should I consider any other brand other than Rolex?"

If you are not happy with the size then you never will be. I think anyone who thinks the 45mm po suits his wrist won't be happy with a 36mm explorer. Buy a used omega.

I've seen the new 36mm Oyster Perpetuals with the slightly redesigned case, bracelet and clasp and it looks really good.

Gives me a good idea on how the Exp I will look when Rolex decides to revamp it.

So, I go for the Exp I, redesigned. A timeless classic.

The Explorer looks almost dainty compared to the Planet Ocean.
