14060 is the pure form of no date Sub & maybe the best Rolex in the lineup. Why would you look for the 124060 if you already have a good cond. 14060 ? 124060 will widely be available in next 20 years while the 14060 will become less.

FWIW, I bought my 14060M the same time as you, for about the same cost.

I sold mine about 12 months ago and now wear a BLNR.

I have never once regret it.

I wouldn't replace it, but to be honest I don't like the new Sub but I LOVE the 14060. Sentimental value is even more reason to hold on if it matters.

The 14060m is one of the best rolex in my eyes and I wish I never sold mine!
It’s the watch that comes to mind when thinking of a submariner, still has the tool watch feel!

Keep it, save and add a gmt

Keep it. My 14060M will never go as I was wearing it the day my daughter was born and the day my wife and I got married. Also, I like its size / proportions so much better than a modern Sub.

But to each their own, best of luck to you!

I regretted so much that i traded my 14060M, so much better looking than any new subs imo. My advice is to keep it and don´t forget, its a tool watch that will take anything you might throw after it.....

Lately, I've been toying with the idea of parting with it and using the funds + not much additional added to buy a new 124060.

Pros
- Values are at an all-time high.
- New watch, warranty.
- 41mm vs 40mm case

Cons
- The watch has sentimental value. I met my wife the day I bought it.
- It is in very good shape and keeps very good time for a 2001 watch.
- Potential wait at an AD for a 124060

It really comes down to a sentimental value vs. upgrade argument. I don't know how long this appreciated value is going to last.

Before anyone asks, I haven't explored actual/forecasted wait times for the 124060. I've been given a very favorable introduction to an AD that a group of friends uses and have bought about 20 watches from in the last 5-7 years. I've only expressed general interest to them. Haven't worked out the brass tacks yet.

Decisions, decisions.
I would keep,it. It’s a tank.

Considering selling something that has sentimental value? Nope absolutely would not do it.

keep it, i let my 14060m go towards a 16710 and I know itll be practically impossible to replace at the price I paid for the sub. especially with all the over priced/overpolished examples the "trusted sellers" have now.

Sentimental value aside ... they are two completely different wearing watches. That’s where I’d focus my attention

Keep from me. I should practice what I preach, I often dive in with a sale or exchange and yep, always regret it. It's one of the best Submariners as well.

Absolutely do not part with that 14060M.

It's an artifact of a bygone era.

It will never go out of style.

To part with the 14060M or not

So, there is no question that the 124060 is a “better” watch with its improvements. However, I would 100% NOT do that.

If buying new, I’d get the 124060 because I want it as new as possible and I am not in the vintage game. When I look at Subs, they are vintage, classic or modern (as are all watches).

114060: way to modern to be considered classic. Worst iteration of a sub ever made IMO (for this era, date / 116610 is MUCH better).
124060: classic shape with everything else modernized (what the 114060 should have been). Great watch, but I’d still prefer date on anything modern.
14060m: classic through and through with 3130 movement. It is the only of the 3 (somewhat modern) Subs without a date that has true identity. It has charm, which modern subs lack (except lv IMO).

I own a 116610ln and love it and wouldn’t trade for 126610ln. However, if I was in market for first sub, I’d go 126610. If I had to have no date, I’d go 124060. If I already owned a 14060, I’d keep it forever.

Just my IMO of course.

Having owned 15+ Rolexs (vintage Sub & GMT, Daytonas, to DSSD in size), I have to say, the 124060 is the absolute perfect daily wearer. The size is modern and full, while being thin enough to fit under a dress shirt. The bracelet was my big apprehension, but, now having worn it daily for awhile, it also is perfect. The extra width feels much better proportioned then the last. I also didn't realize how much I hated the blocky looks of the 114060 until putting this on.

If you want to keep only one watch the new Sub 41 is a better option, in my opinion, but only you can make the right decision.

My view is that apart from our parents and our children, everything else in life can be changed or replaced, including cars, watches and wives.

Sentiments aside, unless you want a physically bigger watch - keep it!

The 14060M at 39.5mm is the smallest "modern" sub and the last one with pinhole lugs, that's what did it for me!

Yes but hopefully one doesn’t casually “trade in” a perfectly good wife just to have a newer model!

For sure not "casually", nor "just to have a newer model", but to get something better why not!
In my opinion if the plan is to keep only one watch the new Submariner 41 is better then the 14060M, but if someone is allowed to have more than one wife can always add a second one to the collection

Another vote to keep it. The 14060/14060m is an absolute classic tool watch in concept, design and execution. It's non-flashy, low-bling, under-the-radar, and above all else, it just feels great on the wrist. And, it has special life-event/milestone meaning for you. I think you would genuinely miss it.

I could never sell my first Rolex it's just something about it I have a lot of offers for way more than I paid but I don't care its the fact that I love it so much the money isn't worth it.

If your asking usually that means yes that's what you want to do.
But don't sell that until you secure the new one. You might be watch-less for 7 years! LOL
