I went to the Rolex AD (managed by Tourneau) at the Caesar’s last Friday. As I walked in the rep immediately said (without me asking): “I have no steel models, no models from the professional line.” He showed me a 41 TT DJ with diamond dial and I tried the Cellini moonphase on (which is stunning). Asking about waiting list (trying to find out if they have waiting lists or VIP lists), he said he won’t even add me to one because there are still people on the waiting list that have been waiting since last year and they have been good customers of the store. So I replied, “Oh, so you have VIP lists?” He said, no. I guess he was maybe uncomfortable with the term. But I did sense that me not being a local — and obviously no purchase history — he didn’t even want to add me on any list at all.

Last March I walked into a Vegas AD around 10pm and asked if they had a sub. They brought one out the back for me. Before going into that AD I visited 5 other ones in which they turned me down. I would say I got lucky but there still could be hope for you.

I have a buddy that lives in Vegas with a low 7 figure income. He buys a fair amount of watches from his AD's, but even he can't get a Pepsi. Vegas is full of so many rich people and celebrities that a regular person with that income can't get a SS sports watch.

I wish you the best of luck, but don't waste too much time/energy on your hunt. You will probably be disappointed.

Probably good timing. My wife did the same in March. They must have been panicked about covid and looking to sell everything they could before Simon Mall shut them down for an indeterminate time.

I asked the SA I know there about this sale and he said on that particular sub they had called to offer to a customer that had just bought a TT Daytona 2 weeks prior and she said no thanks about 5 min before my wife walked in.

Perhaps you're right, I was being a bit harsh, so my apologies to the OP.

But honestly, does any one who knows any thing about watches really think they can go to Las Vegas, walk in off the street to an AD at a major casino, no history, and walk out with one three of the hottest watches in the Rolex line?

I almost suspected he was just throwing some chum in the water just to see all the responses; on that count, mission accomplished

As someone who lives in Vegas, I’ll be honest with you and say no. Not even if you flaunt money in front of them.

They are so cute at this age...

OP, I am sorry, and everyone giving you such a hard time isn’t really warranted, I wish you the best of luck and if you somehow manage to pull off the miracle then post pics and tell us all!

But the odds are EXTREMELY limited of you just being able to walk in to an AD and purchase a watch like that, it’s just the way things are right now. But again, best of luck!

I'd totally try to talk over the phone with the AD, and buy a couple of other watches, and see if you can try to get the SubC. I would not mention the SubC right away. This is crazy, and I know it assumes you're willing to drop extra unintended cash, but you could try to re-sell later.

If you’re in the UK, you won’t be going across the Atlantic in June (unless in a sub) lol

Several weeks ago I called the AD at the Wynn as I purchased from them in the past (circa 2008), back when you could walk in and pick out almost anything from the case. They are a huge Rolex boutique. I was looking for a specific Yachtmaster and DJ41. The SA I spoke to was very helpful. She told me outright that I had to go on a list for both but had to buy the DJ41 before I could be put on the list for the YM. For 20% down, they add you if there are less than 5 people for the specific model. You have to go get it in person.

I liked their transparency quite frankly. If I was local I would have probably done it but I can't fly to Las Vegas at the drop of a hat. And my local AD came through on the YM so that solved for that one. I can wait for the DJ.

If you'd like the name of the SA I spoke to, PM me and I'll provide her contact information.

Hope this was helpful and that you have a great time in Las Vegas...it's one of my favorite vacation spots. Just don't go with the expectation of it being like the old days. Good luck!!

I was in LV for the 2020 Superbowl and tried 4 ADs looking for an Explorer. No dice.

Do you think I'll have a chance of getting one from an AD in Vegas?

I am also looking to add another precious metal piece to the collection, in order of want:

1) Green Dial yellow gold Daytona
2) Oyster Flex Daytona
3) Olive Dial rose gold day date

Again for those members who live in Vegas what is availability like for these models above?

I bought my wife her lady date just at the WOS location at Wynn Las Vegas then was completely ignored by my sales rep on a return trip... you’ll have better luck working with your local AD.

I read a thread on here about a white Daytona in the case of a Vegas AD. One poster passed and gave the heads up to the forums. Another poster saw the thread, went downstairs and bought the Daytona.

You never know.

You have zero chance of getting any of those most places, and especially Vegas as a walk in. You know how many hundreds of people walk through those shops every single day, looking and asking for the same thing? If you have purchase history, you may be able to get the sub or some variation of the oysterflex daytona...but no chance on the others

Hey OP, walk into the AD, tell them "My name is Zeus! Don't f&%# with me or I'll shove a lightning volt up your ass, Zeus!" The AD will know that you mean business, they will open up their safe and bring out those desirable models to sell to you. They may even offer you a discount if you buy more than one watch from them.
