Mine took 5 months in 2019. I think the timing on next allocation and the list juggle was in my favour.
I picked up the blue dial before. I was after another watch and they offered it to me instead. I guess they had another customer pass on it. I just think in the past 2 years the demand has just gone overboard. |

As mentioned above if you spent enough money at that AD they will call you and offer you one. If they haven't called you then you know what you need to do.

I went grey in April’20 in the hight of the lock down in the uk, cost me £34k; fully stickered and unworn. I knew it was the last chance I’d get to buy one even near list price. Looking back was a great choice of watch with good timing. 60k in the uk now worn, 67k unworn.

Will be pounds
That is an exceptional grey market price. Especially for London |

Pounds. Took advantage of the COVID fear in the market. Much better in the flesh than in pictures

These AD have clients spending endless sums of money with them. When you get to a certain level at a chain AD, such as Mayors, then you deal with an emissary who specifically curates a collection for you and pieces like this, at this point, are only available to their clients. They get one in the system and the emissary simply makes the call to the client they have in mind and that’s it. Very easy. |

at this point i wouldn't be surprised if it gets discontinued and goes up even more, i feel like if you want it you should just go grey and get it and enjoy it. some watches are worth a premium
you won't be getting it at an AD anyway so either you go grey now or wait and watch it go up, and it will continue to unless some kind of economic catastrophe like 2008 happens in the near future |

I’ve had two AD’s tell me the green daytona is gone... If you really want the piece, I’d grab it before it’s official and the price gets even worse.
If the 40mm Daytona is out also, expect many of us to be priced out of the Daytona market in general Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I’ve gotten pretty much every hot rolex within a week of asking at my boutique. The green daytona though...was told that would be tough, and even insinuated the rainbow Daytona would be easier.

the fact that you have a chance to get a rainbow daytona says it all in terms of how much you need to spend

grey prices are insane right now, all speculating the discontinuation..
I've been going back and forth for a couple weeks, now they all seem to be asking 85k+ which just seems ridiculous. All of it being dealer to dealer trades just hiking up the price of the piece, I don't really see a collector/end user paying close to $100k on a modern yellow daytona. Lesson learned and I guess those who actually want to wear the watch will have to look at the next thing. |

I think it may take 10 ladies without the DJ's.

I got mine around 2 years ago just as the Mayer Hype was starting.
I'd seen one in my AD's case a year before and admired it then I saw another in Amsterdam airport and decided then I'd ask my AD for one. I got it within a month although now I'd say it would be a lot harder maybe even impossible. I've been using the same AD for ten years and have bought a lot of watches from them |

Seriously, it’s all about the ad and your relationship this last year I’ve purchased Chnr, blnr, 116508, 116613, 116518, 116610 and it’s be flawless. I’ve passed on a few “hot” models because they weren’t for, but aren’t they all hot?!?

You built a great relationship with the AD and thus you effortlessly acquired an extraordinarily desirable reference. That's how it's done. |

You must first catch a Leprechaun. Then you must behead the Leprechaun and bring the head to the seer in the hut on the north side of Meru. There the seer with remove a special part of the brain and boil it with 2 ounces of gold, .5 ounces of white rhino tusk, and a pickle. Boom. Green Daytona.

I ordered mine before the hype hit full steam early 2018/19. Still took a year to get it in after I paid full msrp price in advance. The good news was I was offered many hard to get steel models while I was waiting for it to arrive. Picked up a GMT while I was waiting around. Finally got it after about a year.
