I went with silver myself as I feel it’s the best colour for a DJ.

But it seems you’re looking for the majority vote and you’ll find that in the blue if so, hence the longest wait time on those.

For the new reference, black for me, and on Jubilee...

I do think the new 36mm Date Justs have the most boring dials though compared to older DJ dials, or even the DJ41 with the 5 minute numerals.

This is the one in my opinion, and in this reference I would choose the silver. Look how much more interesting the dial is vs the new reference dials. Stunner. I could look at that all day.

Tough call. I would have ordinarily recommended the black dial until I saw the Hodinkee video on the gray dial 36 mm Datejust. Do check it out if you haven’t already.

Silver or Black Dial for DJ36?

I went silver for my DJ41 with jubilee. This watch is dressy with silver and more versatile as its now a monochromatic bright bad on the wrist. With black now it looks like a sub and now becomes more sporty. If your going jubilee it seems you want a dressy watch.

I would actually agree with you but I think that’s what draws me to the new reference strangely enough! I really enjoy the simplicity of it. I think if I was looking at the older reference I would go silver no doubt, I think the tracks look beautiful on the silver.

I think on a DJ 36, which will look like a dressier watch given the size, silver would be great. Don't be afraid of lighter colored dials on the DJ

Silver or Black Dial for DJ36?

black dial for dj 36 will make it look smaller than it actually is. while silver dial will make it bigger. so silver for me

I vote for the black. I have a silver DJ. Although it is beautiful, what annoys me is the extra fraction of a second it takes for my eyes to distinguish the silver hands from the silver background.

It may not seem like a big deal, but now that I have darker-faced watches, I notice how much more I enjoy them.
