Nobody can predict the future, let alone when you make no mention of what you expect to be paying for the watch.

I posted a decent review of the new Tudor chrono only for 2 threads on investments and values today to wrack up 8x more posts in 6 hours than my watch centric review in 2 days |

You forgot the "I scratched my Rolex what should I do now", "My Rolex is running 3,01248 secs fast per day" and "Can I mow the lawn wearing my new Sub" threads...

Tbh, I'm even more bored of the ££££$$$/discontinued comment on every post as I am of the investment posts themselves.

Lol do you even like the Daytona. The good ole days of watch collecting has all but become a massive commodity game. Everyone and their friend is now a grey dealer.

This forum is really degraded by all the investment posts.
OP- get yourself a REAL investment advisor and learn how to invest and what makes a real investment.

Dollar amounts are simply too insignificant to be considered "investment" so you will not get any advice on that topic on this forum. sorry

I usually do not like to answer such threads, but please think about what you are talking about. Keeping a piece of jewelry in a safe for years and years untouched, hoping it will gain value.
Who knows what tomorrow brings. Buy something to enjoy it, not to keep it in the back of a safe hoping it will be worth X amount of money. If it has been worn, enjoyed, serviced properly, maybe it will still be worth a pretty penny. Sorry to say but I have lost interest in obtaining or wearing a SS Daytona. The stigma of wearing a watch that people are willing to pay 3x MSRP does not appeal to me at all. That being said I am happy I went PM, as it is more value for your money. |

Again I ask, how much are you looking for a return on your investment? How long do you intend to have the capital tied up? What other use do you have for the capital? No one evers asnwers because the "investment" is merely an excuse to spend money on high end luxury jewelry.

It only makes sense as an investment, if at all, if you get it at retail. Then you can possibly double your money in today’s market.

Yeah...someone mentioned 2016. We bought the HULK in December 2016 from DavidSW for $8300 new....below MSRP. So prices are NOT always UP over the longer term.

Go into an AD and ask which piece is the best for value and investment point.
I am sure they will guide you to right direction! Good luck! |
