I usually do not like to answer such threads, but please think about what you are talking about. Keeping a piece of jewelry in a safe for years and years untouched, hoping it will gain value.

Who knows what tomorrow brings. Buy something to enjoy it, not to keep it in the back of a safe hoping it will be worth X amount of money. If it has been worn, enjoyed, serviced properly, maybe it will still be worth a pretty penny.

Sorry to say but I have lost interest in obtaining or wearing a SS Daytona. The stigma of wearing a watch that people are willing to pay 3x MSRP does not appeal to me at all.

That being said I am happy I went PM, as it is more value for your money.

How is buying a Rolex and leaving it in a safe hoping to sell if for profit later on any different than purchasing stocks and leaving them in your brokerage account and hoping to sell them for profit later on?

Hope has never been a viable investment strategy.

Again I ask, how much are you looking for a return on your investment? How long do you intend to have the capital tied up? What other use do you have for the capital?

No one evers asnwers because the "investment" is merely an excuse to spend money on high end luxury jewelry.
