I am still not sure on the two tone, but it looks a whole lot better than I initially thought it would.
The gold doesn't totally over take the watch. That was my biggest fear. |

I had concerns too. The gold is quite subdued. I had a 16713 and the 124273 is more low key than the Submariner TT. I am quite pleased. Not bling at all. The classic Explorer size and the lack of a sports bezel I think helps.

What an awesome watch, Congratulations!
Could you please post real measured dimensions? We could read about the bracelet already, it‘s 19 mm. But what about the case? It looks more like 37 mm instead of just 36 mm. Lug tip to lug tip? Would be very appreciated. |

I love it when a watch plan comes together!
Congratulations! The watch looks great and, objectively, the proportions of the Explorer are perfect for you. Doesn't mean a Submariner is too big...as originally conceived, the Sub was a purpose built, no nonsense dive watch, meant to be larger than the average watch for quite practical reasons, including its robust design, depth rating, legibility underwater, and so on. Over decades the Sub became fashionable, as well, and fashion trends made its larger size "average". Trends come and go...these watches were well designed and beautifully proportioned from their beginnings through the present day. This new Explorer remains a rugged watch, capable of handling whatever environment you might be in, whether harsh or posh (and the gold certainly helps it in that realm!). Nice to hear these watches are showing up already and that people are getting them the tried and true MSRP way--from an AD! |

Well done! I really like that two tone. Great to see you got one already. I put myself on the list for the all stainless steel, because I miss my 114270 so much. Love the proportions on this new one. Congratulations!

Congrats looks great.
I've only got a 6" wrist and am feeling pretty confident I should be pushing my AD for an explorer now! |

Just realised, the title of the thread says it is a 124270 but isn’t the TT a 124273?

Looks great. Both 2 toneness and size work very well. Like others when I first heard about PM in an Explorer I was sceptical but you know what?…. why shouldn’t an explorer have a bit of gold in their watch, especially when it’s done that nicely! And I suspect it’s even better in the metal.
