I think it's completely dependent on the watch overall and what you want out of it. I wouldn't want a YG root beer as an example. And I think YG on the YM40 would make little sense as it's a stealthy watch but then adding the pop of YG would be a... dilemma.

I haven't decided on wether RG or YG on a daytona on oysterflex, leaning towards RG. It's already a PM piece, I don't need it to be louder.

I wouldn’t really call what Rolex has rose gold. I would call it pink gold. Take a good hard look at it. Patek and AP have a very nice rose gold but Rolex is just too pink for me. YMMV

Both are gorgeous. It's all about personal preference - and the dial-combo: louder YG with either full gold look champagne or contrast with blue or green, RG with brownish or darker green tones. Black and white for both.

For example between a 116505 and a 116508 I wouldn't want to choose. They are equally amazing.

Said this MANY times now. Rolex Rose Gold is not the best. Its way way way too copperish. Looks awesome in bright light such as outdoors etc.....but in darker light looks like poo imho.

I have much experience with both YG and RG side by side. I'd pick YG everytime. Rolex YG is closer to AP/Patek RG.

It's really not a "vs." it's more of a preference...and as others have said, somewhat dependent on the model itself.

I'm a reformed RG hater, by the way.

RG is more of a fad, more likely to go out of style.
YG is classic, always.

I tend to agree. I do like the subtlety of the RG, but I feel its a bit if a ‘trend’ thing, wheres I think in the long run YG will remain more highly regarded and a timeless classic.

to some extent the watch model / dial type you want will dictate the metal (e.g. can't get a sub in rose gold, or a GMT in yellow)

Mainly preference, although I'd argue RG works better with all skin tones whereas YG is not quite as flexible.

If you have fair skin, your skin tone will complement one of the two better.

My skintone has rg looking better on me, whereas my gf wears yg better.

Yellow gold every time for me.
I don’t like rose gold at all, just looks like copper in my opinion

Thanks!

Just remember all gold is yellow brother. A wise man once told me that and I went yellow gold.

I agree with this and prefer the rose gold, but the yellow gold watches are beautiful, too. I thingpk that rose gold is more rare to see out in the world so I guess that means I am in the minority in preferring the Everose gold.

Here’s another picture of my rose watches... apparently the DD2 is a different rose gold colour? Does anyone know more about this?

I like all the gold colors! I feel like rose is trendy and over the years it has come in and out of style a few times. I beleave that rose gold has always been popular in the Middle East countries. I really don’t understand white gold at all. Yellow is the classic choice for me.
