I think you'd be pushing it a little bit, but if you like the look of a larger watch on your wrist, then fine by me as long as there's no overhang.

The SD43 seems to be a watch with mostly polarized Love or Hate (not much in between). For those that it fits well and have the right wrist shape, they love them. I'm in that boat, with a 7+ish" wrist...but for some folks with differently shaped wrists they wear terribly. Both are great watches and you can't beat a standard Sub for comfort on just about any wrist.
If there is much question (after you try one on) about the SD43, then probably should just stick with the Std Sub to begin with. It's as close to a guaranteed likable watch that you'll get! |

You're OK you have quite a flat wrist, some have 7 inch wrists but really round/ball shape wrists which make many watches like this and smaller seem too big as the lugs spill over their wrist edges.
I have flat wrists and they were under 7 inches - ah so slim back then! - when I bought my 44mm AP, which wears big, but the lugs stayed within my wrist edges, the pic below is still a bit distorted and too close in as the watch looks bigger than in reality. |

I can’t get over the size of the 41mm bracelet. It’s huge! looks wide and lacks a definitive taper. The lugs are perfect though.

I am a massive mammal and love my Submariner more so than my DSSD JC. Enjoy both of those magnificent divers. Looks great on you.

I would say yes. You should be easily able to pull the SD43
IMHO, it's a heck of a watch compared to the submariner!

Don’t feel offended, but no. Your wrist is way too small for a beast like SD!

Hard for anyone here to tell you one way or the other - it’s one where you prob have to try it on and see what you feel comfortable with. Since you’re planning on keeping the Sub either way though, I don’t know that it makes sense to add the 43 given the similarity. I’d go for something different if I were you.

Agree. They are too similar to have both. Unless the lug to lug is the same, I wouldn’t even consider it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Just an idea, why not try on a Omega Planet Ocean 43.5mm and see how it looks on your wrist? They are readily available and are similar in size to the SD43.

I have a similar size wrist and it's too big for my liking. If you are comfortable with the fit and feel, go for it!

All comes down to preference.
To my tastes that Sub is borderline too big for you. I have an 8”+ wrist and never bonded with the Sub (114060) I had as it was just bigger than I like. Now wearing an Exp I 39mm and it’s perfect for my tastes. But....many would likely find it way too small for someone my size. If you feel like that Sub is too small, give a SD a try and forget what other people think looks right...I did and am much happier for it with my 39mm watch on my beefy wrist, haha. |

I think the sub looks about right for you. It's a sports watch and a dive watch so meant to wear a little large anyway. The main thing is... The SD is essentially the same watch, just fractionally larger. Mostly unnoticeable to all but the wearer. I'd get something different to change it up. Could you pull it off? Sure; I've seen bigger watches on smaller wrists. Definitely try one on first though. Some people do have comfort issues with it.

Yes you could pull off a SD43. But IMHO it would not look as nice as your Sub which is a perfect match for you.

the SD43 is for muscular hands only, you would complaint the protruding casebase hurt your wrist otherwise. have you tried the submariners ?

I think the Submariner is pretty much as large as I would go with your wrist size. It looks spot on in terms of size.
Why would you want a SD43? If you need it for diving, go for it, on top of a wetsuit the size shouldn't bother you. For the office or everyday use? No, I wouldn't get a SD. With that said there are people with much smaller wrists that wear even larger watches. As long as you're enjoying the watch you wear that's fine with me. I think that if you already have to ask on this forum, if the size will be too large, then you're not 100% comfortable with the 43. Based on that alone you shouldn't get one. |

Try it on, make sure it feels comfortable. SD43 always sat a bit funny on my wrists vs the 126660 but in terms of how it looks like many have said you do you. If you love it, go for it.

In general when someone asks such a question the answer is always no. If you were happy with the size and how it wears on your wrist then you wouldn't ask in the first place. When uncertain just don't take the risk.

exactly! that's why I've never asked the same question, I am happy with my SD43 and it gets most of my wrist time among the watches in my collection.
