Just buy a jlc master geographic or whatever. Awesome watch.

JLC Master Control Calendar is quite a watch. It may be my next purchase.

Sad that it’s come to the fact we’re all praising what a “good deal” this is! Having to spend money you don’t want to, to get a Rolex. But...it’s the times we’re in, and it’s better than grey pricing right now. I’d try to get something I’d actually wear if I were doing this deal.

Reverso would be my choice.

My suspicions aren't unwarranted.....

A new member to strike up, I CAN GET A SS DAYTONA, first post, well......then disappear.

AND, I did give myself a waiver!

This is weird

Reverso or Master Control and keep it. Or wait for Tank Must a solar powered watch (maybe Sep), might not be enough as it it less expensive than 5K.

Have no use for the other piece unfortunately! So will explore Santos or Reverso as some of you have suggested.
Epic fail

i would have to agree with you. Too good to be true when others have to spend way more and wait way longer to even be considered for one.

Why not both? Reverso for the wife, Tank for the mistress, you walk out with a SS Datyona. Keeps everybody happy

10k spend for MSRP Daytona ?

That is a gift!
Give him 10k for a pair of cuff links and git ur Daytona

Medium santos would be fun to wear.

IMHO white Santos with black Daytona make an excellent combo. So does blue Santos and white Daytona.

Hell yeah I'd do that. Give your significant other a nice gift to appease them, or buy something for yourself for a dressy occasion (I'd pick a reverso or Santos). Or, flip it for a loss. Even if you lose $5000, still a lot cheaper than buying a Daytona aftermarket.

A Santos Black with a white dial Daytona would be a bundle I'd do in a heartbeat (and I'm not the biggest Daytona fan around). Question regards the nature of the bundle: is it Cartier + Daytona or Cartier + promise of Daytona?

Other question is whether the OP will come back...

If it were me, I’d either do a JLC Master as a dress watch or medium Santos as a classic, but wholly different, alternative daily wearer.

Another option: Not sure what tax laws are like in France, but you could always get the most commercially recognizable Cartier, ask that paperwork be left blank, then donate it to a charity auction. In the US the tax laws would allow for a sizable deduction there and while selling it would probably net you more, this works out nicely if there was a charity you had plans to support anyways.

The irony of course is that even a steel Santos in large size is getting harder to find. I do like the JLC Polaris with blue dial and brown leather strap. Nice pair with the Daytona.
