She said try your own AD in your area. I asked if she had any Datejusts. She said she could special order one. The shelves in the window were empty as well as the glass cases on the inside. I wonder what their rent is. Maybe they have watches in the back though.

You just missed it. I was there a couple weeks ago and they had 2 women's watches... it's the same the world over. I travel a lot for work and I have given up on going to AD's because they never have ANYTHING>

I walked by today and there was no reason to go inside. Every. Single. Display. Case. Empty.
Not even a ladies 28mm. Absolutely nothing.
On the other hand, 200ft away, the Grand Seiko boutique was teeming with watches. Some very beautiful watches there!

Rolex ADs for better or for worse, have become VIP and whale stores. They are doing just fine financially.

And, since I’m a nobody relatively speaking, I bought another brand diver so as to not fester my SA with too many requests. I had to go to the beach and the beach always requires a luxury diver! Thus, it’s nice and convenient to always have second options in case you need them.

In the design district that the OP is referring to, there WERE many other watch brand boutiques, but people rarely bothered going into them....to the point that a few of them have closed.

I can't imagine how frustrating it is to have a store full of watches and people just go right past to funnel into ROLEX just to for the opportunity to be considered for one...any one...

But the general public don't want "watches"...they want ROLEX.
Good point….. people want ROLEX

Where is the thread with Rolex come back to MRSP? When they don’t have to sell even the let’s say “not so hot” models?
