Yes. As long as the crown is pushed in. Point of interest, there are some many famous divers that use the Rolex DJ as their diving watch.

I took the watch to the AD this morning and just got a call that it's "ready". They told me that he opened it up, removed and dried the movement. Inspection showed no apparent damage. He regulated it and pressure tested it. All's well that ends well. Perhaps I need a reminder, every fifty years or so, to make sure that I'm screwed down tight.
Thanks you for all the advice. Before I go, however, I'd like to address the remark (by tools, a moderator and presumably a knowledgeable person): "Wearing a DD swimming is a different discussion". The entire reason I've worn these watches for 50 years is that I have believed that they will stand up to rough use. I've subjected Datejusts, GMTs, and an Explorer to conditions which, I'm sure, would bring many forum members to tears. Never a problem....they just keep ticking....like a Swiss watch. Ha ha. I understand that my DD should stay tight at up to 100 meters of depth. I have never exceeded that in my pool or anywhere else. Am I to understand that my current watch is different? Must it be babied? - that's gonna take some of the fun out of wearing it. Thanks again. Bill |
