I guess I'm the dissenter. VC does nothing for me. I'd rather have an Explorer or DJ regardless of the price differences.

Absolutely get the VC- it is the most versatile watch out there, I think of it as a higher end sub- and you instantly can tell it is quality. It also goes way over retail now so if you can get at retail you won’t regret it

The VC is a Datejust copycat. Keep what you have, it's more original.

Definitely get the overseas. Definitely keep the sub. Sell the dj if you must. (I have both the vco and the sub, and currently in the market for a dj41, and you will absolutely love the vco)

I would make the VC purchase happen against those two mentioned Rolexes in a blink.

What would you do?
The VC overseas range in the next few years is going to be that watch where we say “I remember not long ago when those were available at retail, I passed and today there’s a 2 year list and greys sell it for $$$$ over retail”
It’s a hard choice for you because you would be giving up 2 really nice swatches. But, once you consider that you will have 3 bracelet options, it will be easier to live with one watch. But let’s be real here, you are a watch guy, you’re going to keep adding anyway. So go get it I say. And next year you will be back in the game, you’ll get your sub again and the DJ, but the VC will be the best piece you have by far. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Jay, if you can get it from the boutique now, go for it. My boutique told me that it will have to wait till next year.
The price went up 11% since June.

that VC is still a sleeper even with all the attention it's getting. I'd try to split the difference and sell the DJ but keep the Sub 41. You'd have an awesome pair.

I reached out to VC out of curiosity. Need to register and there is a wait as it is not readily available. If you can get it I would. Sites are asking 42k for it. It is a 22k watch. Not saying do it for investment purposes, but if you like it you can’t lose.

I was in more or less the same situation as you deciding wether to sell my Hulk for the Overseas. I kept the hulk and decided to wait until i got the VC. Now that i have the Overseas im sure i will sell my Hulk when i need to. The finish on the VCO is imo far superior, and with
the 3 strap options on the VC the choice is simple. If you can get the 4500v blue at retail i would get it in a heartbeat:) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I would definitely keep the Sub and the DJ. The VC does nothing for me and it's list is 22,500. Don't know how hard it is to get new because I never tried to buy one but the watch doesn't do it for me.....Sub is great and so is DJ....both are classic great pieces that will hold their value. If this were a 5711 that would be another story. I've learned over the years that you cannot go wrong with Rolex.....always hold their value, easy to service, recognized everywhere and solid as tanks. Have Patek, IWC, Jaeger and others but Rolex is the one watch to have if you're going to have one and if it's just one the Sub is the best one to have. So keep what you have IMO and buy what you want when have the funds to do it.

I think 126610 is the best SUB to come along since the five digits were discontinued. If you have another diver that you prefer over the sub, then trade away the SUB and get the VC 4500V. Otherwise, you may miss the SUB.

The Overseas is versatile, gorgeous, and not seen in the wild. Somewhere down the road there are going to be a lot of collectors who are wondering why they have so many blue dials. Go for a watch that has the finest deep blue dial (you probably can't get an FP Journe Bleu), that is, the VC, and drop the superfluous blue DJ. And, if you must, drop the Sub, unless you actually use it for diving although i'd do my best to keep it for the black dial and the vibe. The VC has 150m WR, so frolic in the water. My take is to have fewer of best watches I can/want to afford, with variety of style- this differs from the "1 diver, 1 chrono, 1 dress.." approach. This means a watch that can serve multiple purposes hence my first sentence in this response.

Really appreciate all the input everyone! At this point, I’m leaning towards the VC - the versatility of the watch with the three straps, the mesmerizing blue dial and the fact that I have this opportunity in the first place makes it something hard to pass up.
As others have said, giving up the DJ 41 is not an easy choice but one that I’m willing to do. But selling the Sub is difficult - a timeless watch that never goes out of style or is out of place in my mind. I would’ve much rather have sold the DJ 41, saved up for the VC and held onto the Sub but that doesn’t seem like an option. Kinda seems like a now or maybe not for a long time kinda decision. |

No chance I’d give up both for the VC. Too much versatility and dependability in that combo.
