OK, I have discovered my perfect Rolex and it doesn’t exist.
yeah, so I have been wearing my sub 41 for about nine months. I can honestly say it is the best all around Rolex I have ever owned. It just wears perfect on my wrist, (I think) looks perfect, accurate (enough for me)… I just love it. Keep in mind, I had been lucky enough to purchase a white-faced SkyDweller a few months before from my AD, but eventually gave it up. It never felt right; lots of reasons but whenever I look at my Sub, it just feels perfect.
HOWEVER, I really miss the functions of a GMT, specifically the jumping hour hand and (of course) second time zone. With all the traveling I do those features really come in handy; but I just don’t like the 40 MM ceramic bezel GMT (and I had a new Pepsi a couple years ago). We could discuss this for about 30 threads but it just seems… “top heavy” on my wrist, and I really don’t like the appearance of the C bezel. It seems like the numbers are two big and the bezel too wide. My sub feels and wears better. Yes, I know, it is only one millimeter difference, (maybe not even that much) but I just find the aspect, or ratio of the watches’ dimensions perfect. It seems to wear flatter on my wrist too. I don’t have dimensions to back this up, honestly just going off of feel and appearance. So… the answer is obvious… A 41 MM GMT would be my perfect watch. All Rolex has to do is take the 3285, put it in the 41 sub case and there it is!! Rolex? Are you listening? What are you thoughts, would you like to see the GMT move up to the 41 case or leave it as is? |
