The Breitling blue does look more dynamic in your pics. Perhaps a different colored YM would let you enjoy it more, so it's not "competing" with the watch you're used to?

Yes I had this SF and the dial in certain lights was like an aquamarine green/blue, really lovely, not seen another blue quite like it.

Nothing wrong with the Breitling. If it is what you like then it is what you like. I would not sell or trade the YM though. Why not just give the YM a couple of weeks straight on the wrist and then revisit the Breitling. You might find that the YM is tough to put up once you get use to it.

Not crazy but I prefer the Rolex. Both are sharp looking watches. As others have said the Breitling just looks a little too busy for me.

Breitling is a awesome watch. Your not crazy at all. It means you are a true watch lover and you know what you like.
I my self am a hugh fan of Breitling. And that one is a Beauty.

Not Crazy. I have several “cheaper” watches I wear more often than my Rolexes (Tudor, Omega, Tag).

Rolex baggage can really make the brand seem way overrated. Funny enough Rolex arrogance with owners trying to prove they are better just reinforces the baggage. Other brands can just be a nice watch with and that can be refreshing honest and more appealing. A good quality and durable automatic speaks for themself. The more experience you have with horological history and movements, the more you tend to forget about the brand on the dial and let the real watch speak to you in what it is all about. Beyond that, style and personal preference is all that matters.

I personally love the YM, but I agree to get the one that sings. Don’t let the hype affect your personal tastes.

Not at all.

With this hobby it is a victory when you can make a decision like this

Breitling is a great watch and nothing wrong with your preference. I am not a Rolex fanboy but rather a watch person and there are many great watches out there. The folks that tend to think you are crazy for liking the breitling better than a Rolex are likely more interested in the name on the dial and the perceived “prestige” that they think comes with it than a broad appreciation of watches.

Nothing wrong at all, I love my Submariner but when I wear my Omega Seamaster I cannot get over just how good a watch it is, looks great on my wrist and the wavy dial is just spectacular.

Wear the watch you like or for the occasion, the YM might suit an evening out or on your wrist at a wedding, you have two great watches, enjoy them both.

When asked what his "guilty pleasure" songs are, Dave Grohl had an answer that I think would apply here. He said, "I don't believe in guilty pleasures; if I like something, I f***ing like it and I don't need to explain or justify it to anyone."

As of late, I prefer wearing my Doxa Sub 300 to any of my Rolex watches. Is it cheaper, definitely. Do I care...nope. Just like what you like. You don't need anyone's permission to prefer a Breitling to a Rolex!

I had a Breitling Aerospace for years and it easily got the most wrist time. I stupidly sold it a few years back when I decided to consolidate the collection. It's the only watch I regret selling. I wish they'd bring back the smaller cased Aerospace or make another version in a 38-40mm case.

At the end of the day, wear what you like...you're the one that has to look at it all day.

As someone who has owned that same Super Ocean II reference, yeah you're nuts. That rubber bezel is the definition of "weak".

Am I crazy for liking my Breitling better than my Yachtmaster?

That’s because you are comparing the Breitling to the YM not YM2. YM bezel not my cup of tea. Reminds me of late 90s cheap Fossil watches you bought in tin container.

There's quite a difference on the YM not having a blue bezel. Depending on what you're going for maybe a Tudor would be an option? I don't really care for the YM bezels especially the platinum/blue dial combo... I agree with the busy-ness issue of the Breitling but as others have mentioned, collecting should be about personal taste. Ie: I prefer my Speedy Racing 40mm to ceramic Daytonas!

I would prefer the YM over the Breitling. While I enjoyed the Chronomat44, Navitimer, and super avenger Ive own, they did not compare to a Rolex for my personal taste. Theres just too much on the dial of the Breitling.

Lol easy now. It’s not sacrilegious to like 1 watch more than another one. Even if 1 is a Rolex

What’s that mean?? The YMII is a Rolex masterpiece on every level of Rolex design and engineering.

Personally I feel as though the Breitling may just fit the necessary utility a bit more than what the YM does.

Nothing wrong with that

Like what you like and you don't need confirmation from others. I found myself liking one of my microbrand watches more than my Rolex or Patek.
Btw I really like the recent Breitling and thinking about getting one over a new Rolex.
