Some big shots on reddit are corroborating its existence. I think it's real and being rolled out. Doubt it makes much difference in regards to the shortages as the median buyer wasn't buying nearly that many a year anyways.

Yeah that’s my thought lol.

I think this is just a way to politely tell people the waitlists will be longer.

Think of the logistics for Rolex to track and monitor each watch to a specific person. Think of the database needed and the time needed to police it. Rolex has much better things to do with their manpower and IT like coming up with new compelling designs and features. And do you think ADs are going to let Rolex tell them they can’t sell 4 watches a year to their whales?? Preposterous!!

Is this what passes for news? I do not recall Rolex announcing this.

I think the 3 watch rule is solely just for sports models however some customers can't get 3 let alone 1 so I don't know who this is going to help.

The biggest player in the UK for Rolex is WOS and they adhere to there shareholders so they will sell as many watches to whoever wants them IMO. These are the guys who said 'Rolex says' before anyone goes on the registration of interest you have to own a Rolex (buy anything we can't sell) and join the masses in waiting.

Can you blame them for twisting your arm into buying something for you to maybe get a sports. A lot of people have started playing the game so WOS has a lot of sports watches to supply to existing customers as well as these new customers who have bought 'something' just to get a sports

Everyday on TRF...

TRF Member #1: Why don’t ADs do more to stop flippers and spread Rolex sales to more customers?

TRF Member #2: ADs shouldn’t follow suggestions from Rolex. They can do what they want.

Lots of hypocrites!

It’s not real. And I bet most aren’t getting that many to begin with but there are many ways around it.

ADs will keep on selling what they want to whoever they want to maximise profit because they have a business to run. Simple as that.

Rolex might be a charitable trust, ADs are not and they have no reason to allocate sought after pieces to the average Joe out of sheer generosity. This is the reason why I'm not holding my breath for a steel Pepsi. I totally get it.

There's more to life than yet again another watch in the collection.

I'll add another obvious point that limiting 3 pieces to all customers does not mandate they sell a Rolex to anyone without a purchase history any differently than at present. It just gives the AD more to stockpile for its better customers.

If your source for anything these days is a You Tube video, well...you're on shaky ground, to put it tactfully.

Hey man, hehe, it's not like we don't know it's a youtube video, even stated it in OP that it is according to a youtuber. However, I would not shoot it down just because it's from a youtuber. Rather shoot it down if you have good reasons to think the contrary instead. Which many have with some good points too.

Rolex obviously don't announce directives to the public as far as I know? But to the ADs. And according to many ADs Rolex have indeed notified about it. Who knows, but it seems like it is real to me.

More likely, in an effort to ease AD stress, Rolex has published a secret guide: “Stuff to tell customers when the standard excuses have stopped working.”

It isn’t true in the US that I can tell you. I have received 4 Rolex ytd and expect another 2 before year end.

So let me get this straight. Rolex, the company, is basically selling everything that they are making because of this "game", their products are flying off the shelf and value going up like rockets, yet they are forcing AD to be "fair" to all the customers who really want a watch and most of these very same customers are going to flip the watch for profit the same day ...

Mind blown. This makes whole lot of sense. LOL :D

I asked my Rolex AD about this yesterday. Nothing has come through from Rolex to this effect. At best, it might be an internal strategy from one of the larger groups (WOS or similar) here in the UK but definitely not a directive from Rolex.

Japan did something similar. It was a group of ADs that approached Rolex Japan to authorize the restriction, and it was approved. Maybe it is coming to the UK with approval of Rolex UK.
