Good point! The fact that the OP said that his heart is saying to stick with the no-date, it sounds like that's what he really wanted.

If one either prefers the symmetry of the dial, or dislikes the cyclops, a date model won't make them happy.

If one prefers the historical, original style Sub, then the LV definitely won't satisfy.

I understand the temptation of practically doubling your money right away, but that's why I asked whether the OP wants his favorite watch or an arbitrage opportunity.

Get the 124060. It was the one you originally wanted, and presumably you wanted it for a reason. Plus, it goes with whatever attire you may wear in any situation. And it's just so much cleaner to look at than the Sub Date.

Get the ND, it’s what you wanted and it’s nicer anyway.

Why are you being offered the others? I would imagine they have people waiting for them...

Gotta try them on. I walked in to an AD to get an Explorer 2 Polar that I had been drooling over forever. I ended up walking out with a black Sub date instead!

I’d go with the LV, but that’s because it’s the watch I like best. I’m fond of green.

Some people don’t like green as a daily wearer, but I’m a fan. If you like the sub best, that’s an outstanding choice and sticking with it is a great plan.

I am not opposed at all in buying the LV and wearing it. Haven't tried it on yet so who knows. My heart has been set on the 124060 since they released the 41mm version.
If it’s not really about the money why do you raise it here? Just buy the watch you want to own and wear instead of focusing on what they sell for in the secondary market. It’s a slippery slope if you start to do this IMO.

FWIW, I had the choice of the same 4 at release but I took the 124060.

I appreciate all of the feedback. Just left the AD and decided on the 124060. It just felt right. I did like the LV, but I've waited 5.5 months for the no date and I'm glad I did. I will post pictures as soon as I can, but already in love with it. Crazy when the associate walks out with the Rolex tray and has 4 subs on them....go from nothing for months to a nice supply.

If your first love is the sub no date then buy it and consider yourself very lucky and enjoy.
Buying something just for the sake of it would stop someone else getting theirs.
Just my tuppence worth.

Take the green and black sub and follow up the visit to the Ad with a visit to the local grey market dealer. He’s prob got a no date “unworn” and you got a check for a few thousand or cash coming instantly right back to ya watches prob came from the same Ad. Few hundred meh I’m not leaving my couch, few thousand and the watch I want in virtually the same condition I’ll make a few calls and take a few rides.

Good choice, you got what you were waiting for and you also make another that is waiting for Kermit II happy too.

Take the Cermit, I like the green most, having had those two black subs, and if the green doesn't take then an easy trade to a black model.

Congrats! 124060 is an amazing watch, and AD will definitely remember you choosing the watch you like over cash on table.

Plus NDs are getting produced less than the date variants, so you may have picked the watch you like, plus cash on table (hulks were sitting on the cases at one point, so ND may be the new craze in few years, you never know).

My thoughts exactly...I may or may not have dropped a hint about a GMT...

Problem with the above plan is as follows:

1. If you flip it, you’re back to having no Rolex.
2. You likely won’t be able to get the no-date offered again. Are you just going to immediately go back and request another Submariner? And then when you visit you’ll never have the LV on your wrist — I think it’ll be somewhat obvious what happened.

You can certainly buy and flip the LV if you so desire, but I think you’ll be effectively ending your relationship with the AD. They are not stupid, and they will notice if you purchase a watch and then never see you wear it again.

Personally, I think choosing either watch is defensible, provided you intend to keep it to wear.

Buy the watch you had your heart set on and don't look back. Anything else just makes you look like every other person who is contributing to this craziness.

Buy the LV, flip it and get an unworn 124060 from your grey. You would be a fool not to, the AD won’t have you in their “good books” because you take a No Date. Money talks and this hype won’t last forever. Flip it and cash in. You can even wear it for a bit and sell it as new if you are careful
