Again. Because I actually use these not to time steaks my friend but I’m healthcare where accuracy counts. I dunked all over another person who challenged me in this on another thread. It didn’t go well, because a simple look at the dial tells all that need to be known. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

21 hash marks for 30 seconds. I’m really sorry. Math wins….again. The counter on the right side is supposedly a 30 second counter. Look on the 6263 Daytona and you find 30 hashmarks for 30 seconds. That’s a tool, current iterations pretty jewelry. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yeh sure for steaks and jewelry purposes it’s fine. Lol it’s on me. Sorry, if you look down quickly and that hand is on the 0 (near the 10) it’s not clear if it’s 10,11,12. Further there is a large gap between that 0 and the start of the hashmarks which may be 11, 12 but who knows unless you are looking down the entire time. It’s a pretty watch but for 13k, I don’t think precision is too much to ask. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

There is no one that will agree that having 21 hashmarks represent 30 minutes will increase legibility. Let me ask you, have you used your Daytona for anything else other than steaks? Anything involving decision making? Didn’t think so. I have, and its no good. What time is 1/16 of an inch past the 0 near the 10? What about 1/32? You can’t tell because maybe its 10, maybe its 11. I don’t have the luxury of watching the minute hand go round and round. That’s not legibility. No chrono does this and Rolex did not do it in the past. I get it that, one spends lots of money and does not want to concede that what the instabook told them that the Daytona is the coolest watch to own by far and everyone will be so impressed you have one actually is just simply for looks or to be used for silly things around the house rather than real timing purposes as watches used to be made for. Sorry, you been had and it’s pretty for instabook. Real watches that have been used as tool, the Speedmaster pro and navitimer all have 30 hashmarks for 30 minutes. The only other watches that don’t have enough hashmarks are fashion watches and that’s what the Daytona has become. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm a Speedmaster guy myself. The Daytona is too small for me and my 7 3/4" wrists. Plus the dial just isn't legible enough to be useful.
I would be interested in a Tudor Big Block though.

Btw, If you’re truly using your Speedy to make medical decisions, as you repeat over and over, where fractions of a second matter for someone’s health, than I wouldn’t let your malpractice carrier know. |

Lol. Listen captain modest, I only have let’s see, 3 graduate degrees and clearly lack your advanced level of sophistication to read the Daytona perfectly each time. You have no idea the kind of tests I conduct and the level of tolerances that they require. Suffice to say, the speedy gets the job done for the tests I run. You can say what ever words you like math is math. 21 hash marks for 30 minutes means telling the time is speculation at best. And unless your God and your not, a mistake can be made with missing hashmarks. Period. Mistakes that are less likely to be made when enough hashmarks are added. Your Tolerances are enough for parking meters my friend and that’s great. They won’t get the job done in other industries. Shame as the Daytona was once advertised as a watch to be used by scientists and engineers-clearly not the case anymore. You talk a good game about the Daytona but are not comfortable with it being used for high stakes medical decisions eh? Little to real now. That’s the difference between a tool and jewelry, and thanks for proving my point. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Man, that's legibility. I wish Tudor would re-issue the big block. I would be all over that in a second. I always missed the date with my Daytonas.

So do you cut the guy off during his presentation after you gave him 15 minutes and do you leave the meeting after 30 mins? All thanks to the chrono? |

I use my watches as I see fit, and they have suited me well. I own a Sub, but don’t dive; a GMT, but am not a pilot; and your beloved Speedmaster but am not an astronaut. Like I said, plenty of reasons not to like a Daytona, but I just find your rationale to be a pretext to bash. In any event, given your determination and history of bashing the Daytona and it’s owners, ie the “instabook” nonsense, I’ll let you have the last word. You’ve earned it. As to the OP, I’m fine with the current size, but would love it if they brushed out the lugs and center link. |

Speedmaster Coaxial. 44.5mm. Plus its automatic wind vs the manual wind of most other Speedies.

So do you go on an Airplane or boat and tell the captain he is wrong if he says this or that navigation device is not the best for the job? No. If a soldier tells you a particular weapon does not get the job done or there is another better do you argue? No. You don’t unless you have that insider knowledge. The problem with the internet is that everything thinks they are an expert and their not. I’m in healthcare and tell you the Daytona can cut the mustard period. I’m not telling you that your wrong, I’m sure you can time steaks and to each his own. There are many other posts above in every other Daytona post that the legibility is a problem. 21 hash marks for 30 minutes means reading is estimation. It’s not as precise as a watch with 30 minutes and 30 hashmarks period. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I think it should be 45mm, so that demand would be lesser. Better customer segmentation.

Lol. I think there is so much hype with this watch because of the instabooks that if they made it 38mm the demand would be the same and if 45 the demand would be the same. It’s a watch that quite literally famous for being famous as it broke no new ground as a chrono. Rolex gets a free pass on things that other brands get hammered for and all would be forgiven on a watch that’s 45mm but somehow wears like a 41mm lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
