Have a reason to go into the store. Talk about other purchases you’d like to do for your family. Build a relationship.

Don’t go if you don’t want to. Let the people who actually visit the AD in person get the watches.

These are not the Daytonas you’re looking for…

In this day and age, the kettle is covered in different coloured sapphires, called rainbow and has a 15 year waitlist… oh wait, no, it says Hublot on the front, you can have it right now at a discount

I was in a mall in South Florida a few months ago. I went into the Rolex boutique which was just about empty. The salesperson was really good-natured, saw me, smiled and said: "Would you like to see our watch?"

We both had a good laugh (It was a 36mm). He gave me an espresso in a paper cup and thanked me for stopping by.

I'm looking to buy my 1st "R" and started AD hunt last weekend. Out of the 3 I visited, the one in the smallest town gave me the best impression. The others bigger ones were, indirectly like "fack off...we don't care for zero purchase history customers".

The one in the smaller town went really well. I spoke to the mgr directly (I was wearing my Omega smp (which is now sold..lol) and he commented on that too). Long story short, I was able to build a relationship pretty quick...as it happens, his son works in the same hospital where I work (different locations). I was being honest and flat out told him that I've saved for over a year and always wanted a Rolex.

He did put my name down for the new sub or the new GMT Explorer II and said that he might hook me up by x-mas (3 month wait). They've received 3 ExpIIs this year (2 polar, one black and sold them all ). For the heck of it, I put my name down for the ever elusive green bezel sub as well !!

This store only has received 2 so far for entire 2021 and both were picked up within hours of contacting the customers.

PS: This AD has empty pouches in the Rolex section. No catalogue either but mgr gave me the older Explorer /II magazine (hard copy).
