Great looking watch...would love one myself. From what I've observed, the folks on this forum with this watch generally are owners with extremely established histories with ADs, some with more Rolexes than I have pairs of shoes. All signs suggest it is extremely hard to get and dealers prioritize them for situations that are most financially advantageous to them.

I don't like going into a project with the assumption of failure, but it is important to point out the that effort you put into this is probably not likely to yield the desired result for the foreseeable future.

Beyond the Tiffany appeal for a woman, still trying to figure out why I man would want one...unless he was buying

for his wife or significant other...seen this one in the flesh and, for me, it's dainty looking...different strokes...

Any sage advice from anyone??

Seems many obtained are being flipped for a significant profit. All good. Not begrudging someone wanting to make some easy dough. I just happen to wear my watches. Like my Hulk, which I could make some serious coin on now. But I love it, and wear it.

Have payment instantly available.

Take care everyone!
I am in a similar situation, having bought 3 rolex and 1 hublot, currently waiting for a rg oysterflex daytona. When I asked is there any time estimation when can I get the piece, I was replied that a man with $200k have also been waiting for the same piece.

The silver is the most beautiful dial IMHO, and I believe will be the most valued in the future. That said, this is not a bad Idea. Not sure though if any color is readily available at this point.

Hey Chuck seems we joined here at the exact same time so I'm sure you know the state of play, I think the OP is a possibility but probably only if you can get in close with an AD and they do you a solid.

I saw them all in one place when they were introduced last year. I’m man enough to wear the turquoise, but happen to like the red and yellow better.
I think even RolexSA underestimated the appeal the bold OP line would have and are still scrambling to balance demand.

To the original poster here, zero chance some random dealer has one of these laying around and will sell it to you.

If you don’t have an existing relationship with an AD, i think your chances are 0 on that dial. Everyone wants it, and everyone has money to buy it right now. You might be on a list for years, but i wouldn’t expect a call ever. If you want it, it’s likely going to cost you 15-16k.

Took your advice. Visited the AD yesterday. Had a nice talk with the office administor. Actually brought in my 2 other watches. Like, see, I wear them.

We shall see....

Flipping cuts into the ability of the enthusiasts who REALLY want the watch <for wearing it> to get one.
And that is partially why you cannot get one. Good luck with your effort, though.

Like you, I would never pay the inflated "usurious" gray market prices. Let their kids go hungry if watches cannot be sold for a "reasonable" amount.

Someday those thousands of gray market watches will have to move.
You can't dictate the way the man thinks that's unfair. You never know the reason why someone would buy a watch and sell it for a profit, or for market price, or for less - I think it's none of yours and anyone's business. And you certainly can't blame grey dealers who are targeting customers who can pay the prices being asked. You either get with the program or forget about hard to get watches - plenty other brands that can be easily bought, with as good quality as Rolex, if not better

I disagree with many comments, the grey market is for complete mugs, unless you're buying vintage or neo-vintage models. I live almost three hours from my AD and only go in 2-4 times per year and spend some time chatting and discussing what I'd really want and all things watch related. They know me now after years of doing this and I get offered at least one steel watch ever 12-18 months. I'd never pay the foolish premiums for modern watches in the grey market as there's simply no sense to it.

I’ve been trying for this piece as well. Good history with my AD. Tough roads and been that way. They’re just not getting them in for some reason.

Either pay the premium at the AD (by buying other things that they can’t sell) or pay the premium at the gray.

Or just move in with your life.

I’d probably do the latter.

I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m not getting this piece at an AD and it is truly a unicorn. To give some perspective, I’ve spent about $150K in the past 12 months with a family owned AD and I haven’t been able to get a Turquoise OP41 that I requested when it was first released. In that same time period, I’ve gotten a Pepsi, YG green dial Daytona and a RG olive dial DD.

Nice collection there, especially the latter which is the end game for me.

Thanks for the input. My AD has only seen one since release. Logic would dictate only the very best clients would receive one. They are very rare at the moment.

Seems life will go on if you don’t get one. You don’t want to pay the gray premium. I agree with you on that. But you want a very in demand piece. And you don’t even want to drive 2 hours round trip to the dealer. So find another watch to go after.

Not trying to be funny, but....

This watch has shot up so much to in my opinion insane unjustifiable prices that no ad is even entertaining a phone call or walk in for it and realistically you are not getting this watch from any ad they don’t know you well

My advice is move on.
