I can see this — Aside from “not an investment,” one issue with the many similar threads may have been the percentage of answers which boiled down to “Mine!”

(Perhaps “Which model that you do not own will be … “ would provide somewhat more objective opinions?)

Why do you think people are not honest?

You are asking text on a screen to guess the answer to your question. What kind of answer are you looking for ?

I honestly have an idea but I can't bring myself to feeding the frenzy. Some things are best left alone. Every time we've done these it hits the fan for those models

Cellini.

When everyone gets fed up of the staple GMT’s, Sub’s, Explorers and their watch tastes evolve, more people will appreciate them for how nice they really are.

1st gen 116719 BLRO black dial. I said it so now prices will exponentially increase because everyone will want one.

Future Rolex Model that will be sought after

I have a hunch that the original 116710BLNR will be a future sought after because it was the first in a few things (first bicolor cerachrome, first black/blue gmt, etc).

But I’m biased.

I couldn’t agree more. Give it say 20 years. This will be looked back on as one of the greatest.

Pepsi and BLNR jubilee took a lot of the light away from this one, but the original is still the best imo

No one knows. After 18 years in production and one of the most heavily discounted models who would have ever picked the 6263 in say 1985? Based on that I’m going to pick the current Air King.

I think the white milgauss will gain some attention in the coming years. You don’t really see many of those around.

In the age of mass produced Rolex watches, especially sport watches, i just can’t see a time where they will explode. Obviously they are selling for much more than MSRP, but i am talking 6263 or 6265 type levels. Watches that sold for a few hundred and now sell for 60-100k. I just do not see that happening to 6 digit modern Rolexes.

We see vintage pieces going for 30x what they originally sold for. Even with inflation, that would take a Daytona today and say in 40 years its 400k? I just can’t see it happening. Future Rolexes will continue to climb and be sought after, but not at the levels we have previously seen.

As of my perception Cellini Moonphase 50535 is clearly undervalued at the present moment. Leather strap, beautiful face, wonderful caliber, no Cellini inscription on the dial, exquisite materials - moonphase complication, meteorite, enamelled moon dial, leather strap, rose gold, 50 m WR …. And that comes at a price that is less than any of the sports models! Clearly it is undervalued. Hype has not taken it over yet!

To get back to topic, my vote would be Yachtmaster, if they really come out with that Ainslee one in Titanium on Oysterflex.

I think all of yours Bruce and possibly a few of mine.

Not that it means anything to you and me.

Investment threads are becoming common place but this comes as no surprise given the price explosions.

I really do feel for members who can’t purchase the models they like at retail due to the current situation.

I have a couple of Rolex models on order with my AD but I am in no hurry.

I have a few watches if I want to change up.

Maybe none. If young people don’t start wearing watches, it’s likely that most all of them will see a decline in interest

Most of the interest across social media with Rolexes are aligned with sneaker boys. I don’t buy the Apple Watch taking over luxury watches bit

Yes, but it’s fashion. How many of them are interested in the mechanics and history? Many don’t even bother to set their watch or wind it.
As with all fashion, the interest is temporary and they will move on to something else.

Tiger, Dragon, and of course Leopard. Rainbow is ok too. Have you seen the Leprechaun DD, outstanding!

People have been interested in collecting sneakers since forever. If your fashion point is about Rolex itself, I can semi-agree but watches in general? I disagree 100%

I have no idea why you keep bringing up shoes. Shoes are still a necessity and everyone wears them. Watches used to be essential and now they aren’t (phones). There is no parallel between shoes and watches.

Air King, really? I never understood the appeal with that one. Well maybe the original Dominos Pizza edition. That was pretty sick but a modern Air King? Why would people suddenly begin to like that one. To me, the design is a little off with the mixed numbering on the dial.

One of the ugliest watches ever made. Yuck. If market ever turns, you wont even get a bid for the Airking
