Congrats! Beautiful YM. It's my favorite reference. So comfortable and the Platinum bezel adds just the right amount of weight.

Congratulations, the YM has really piqued my interest of late and your review and comparison to the GMT has added fuel to the fire :)

Thanks for all the congrats and well wishes, everyone! I'm still smiling ear to ear and haven't taken the watch off (only to sleep). The more I wear it, the more impressed I am with it's fit/feel on my wrist. It is so streamlined around my wrist and seems to lay just perfectly. It's the shape/thinness of the case and curved lugs that does it for me. I keep looking at on my wrist from the side of the case and it's perfect to my eyes. The GMT seems to just sit on top of my wrist, a bit bulkier (but by no means bad), whereas the YM just hugs and curves around so nicely.

I'll take some more wrist shots of the two watches to show what I'm talking about. But I much prefer the look/feel of the YM on my wrist to that of the GMT.

The touch of blue is what really caught my attention initially. I know many consider it feminine, but I really love that color and how wonderfully it compliments the gray tones of the dial.

Congrats on the incoming

100% agree with this. The crappy pics I posted were from my old iphone and don't do the watch any favors. But as some other members have posted in their quality shots of this watch, it is sublime in person. The dial takes on so many different shades depending on the lighting.

100% agree on the case! Sooooo nice. I only saw pictures of this model, and some damn good ones from TRF members, prior to owning it. I was a bit fearful that it wouldn't live up to the hype and 6 months of anticipation when I saw it, but I was very wrong. It was even more stunning that I imagined.

Yes! The shape of the case from both the top view and the side view of the curved lugs is amazing. Compared to my GMT, I love how (from the top view) the case really hugs the bezel and curves much deeper inward before trailing off into the curved lugs. And the curved lugs look so good on the wrist, giving a much cleaner fit than the somewhat blunted off lugs of the GMT. Comparatively the GMT just seems to sit on top of the wrist rather than hugging it, if that makes sense.

Thanks! I also had a C6 Z06 (black). Did the museum delivery back in April of 2007 and promptly sent it off to Lingenfelter for some upgrades. I miss that car! Haven't owned a sports car since 2011 though. Once kiddos started coming along, bikes and cars took a backseat. I'll have them again one day. Cheers!

Honestly, side-by-side, the yachtmaster looks amazing in terms of its case design. I like that profile a lot, thinner case design and less of a thick slab of metal... curved, flame-shaped lugs, like a DJ or Daytona. Very elegant and beautiful. Bezel integrates well with the bracelet too. Only thing is I wish they found a less elitist name for the watch "yacht-master" haha
You nailed it! I agree on all points. At first I was really turned off by the name as well, but that's beyond my control. The watch is too pretty to let that stop me from owning it. But I agree, it does sound a bit elitist.

Here's a few shots of the GMT vs the YM on the wrist so you can see how well the YM forms perfectly around the wrist compared to the GMT, which feels like it just sits on top. I never imagined the YM would look/feel so much differently, but it does.
