It’s the same in the real world nowadays. Can’t even say what you think or somebody will be offended. Pffff. Guess they never experienced the harder things in life
While I will agree it’s a much nicer environment here then way too many other sites…. However, as of late there’s been an increase in “haters” remarking poorly….. I also will agree the moderation here is controlled quite well.

This hockey puck, arguing about a thread asking people to be nice is just one small example……

Having a discussion with differences of opinion is more than welcome of course, but these blatant rude comments directly insulting other members are totally unnecessary in my opinion….That one old grumpy guy is one of the biggest offenders…

That's a great philosophy. I am going to borrow that because it rings so true in family dynamics as well as other situations where emotions can run hot.

Let’s be kind to ADs, their staff, and each other in this journey. That’s what is most important. Far more important than obtaining any watch

Well said Envuks. I try not to be loud or unnecessarily rude to the AD owner. He too gets the pressure. Imagine being constantly called by different persons for a piece and some are too impatient or like you said, feel entitled to get the piece. At such become rude to the AD.

So I've decided to be calm and face other things while awaiting the call.

While I agree with this overall sentiment, I think it's a bit ironic coming from someone who's been trolling in quite a few of those threads. You've been name calling quite a bit. Why don't you follow your own advice?

I joined this forum in 2005. Don't go by my "join date". Was one of the first 50 members here. We were a bunch of refugees from TURF. JJ Irani was getting abused over there for his good-natured silliness. He left, a group of us followed. He was a sweet man. Any ribbing in those early days was all in fun. Forum was much smaller. By the way, TURF has since melted down.

Any way, things change, forums change, no different here. Reflection perhaps of societal changes. This is still a cool forum. Well moderated. The occasional idiots don't last long.

Lucky for me Im mostly only involved in the tech aspects of the forum. So I generally miss all the negativity and name calling in other sections. I joined this forum 10 or so years ago when I first got into watches I then went to study watchmaking and became a watchmaker. The forum definitely heightened my interest and love for watches. Name calling and insults is just pathetic, my approach on this forum is to offer my advice and that be that, the last time some dude got all aggravated and rude so I don’t check back once ive posted anymore and that suits me.

This forum is still much more civilised and informed than many.

These two comments lead me to the conclusion that you’re both unfamiliar with Don Rickles and his loving insults….. the use of hockey pucks, is a term of endearment and to receive an insult from him was a compliment. Shame I have to explain but you two must be of a younger generation….I however would love to be reminded of my “trolling”

Young person, please don't give up!

Try this, go back to the shop and ask to try on anything in 36mm. They might just have something in the safe for you to test. Then ask if it's available. They just might let you buy it? Now, you have started your journey!
Really, I wish you the best luck young person!

Anyway, I thought you left the building already? Why are you still here, cause you're lovin it! You're hooked on Rolex!

Everytime someone calls you out on it you call them "young" and reference Don Rickles as if to say it's OK to troll, because you're just playing a persona. And by extension, we should all be cool with your trolling. Why don't you just go back to posting super helpful threads like these in the general discussion forum:

https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=826675
https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=823712
https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=828120
https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=805262

Isn't this the same drivel you've been protesting about other people posting? Seriously, if someone can show me how to ignore Don so that I don't see any of his posts, I'd be eternally grateful.

This routine is so old. Complain about everyone being too sensitive while your original post and this one calls for everyone to be kind. Great "humor" bro. Saying you love everyone makes it all OK, right?

Thank god for the ignore function.
