In my personal opinion, I have a 7" wrist and I think it's right on the border. The DJ41 definitely fits and looks great, but I could go either way. So if I had to make a general recommendation, I would recommend wrist sizes of 7.25" and above to go with 41 and 6.75 and below to go with 36. Anyone in the middle, take your pick!

What do you all think?
Pretty simple
Men = DJ41
Ladies = DJ36 and less

Let's not let wokeness in the watch game

Ahhh the fashion police favorite thread. Where they get to proselytize made up fashion rules.

No one but yourself cares about the watch you’re wearing and how it looks on your wrist. Wear what you want. Enjoy life. Don’t sweat the insignificant details.

Something to also consider is if you are wearing it under a sleeve or not. Smaller watches are more comfortable if worn with long sleeves.

Exactly. Years ago I bought a 36 mm Datejust and I had to add an extra link. That’s a good sign that the watch was too small for me.

Serious reply from me now, based on the OP…

It’s really a personal choice and not something to be determined by wrist circumference alone. Until perhaps the last 12 months or so I would have instinctively gone for a 40mm + sized watch with my flat 6.25” wrist. Having enjoyed a DJ36 since earlier this year, I’ve now added the new Explorer 1 and find myself favouring smaller pieces.

Yea wrist size is important but so is wrist shape. So is overall body size and also ones style preferences.

Here are my 2 x 36mm and also my 40mm SD4K which is due back from service tomorrow. Honestly keen to see if I find it too big having worn my smaller pieces for the last 2 months…

I would go with the combination/dial you like best as opposed to size alone. There are many more options within the 41 range dials such as the white stick dial which is not available on the 36 range.

I love the new 41's; they finally have DJ with the presence of a sports watch.

I have small wrists and sold my 36MM WG DD because I felt like it wore to small. So now I have 40s.

That is a factor into play here - IMO the DJ specifically is not "meant" to feel sporty, so I think that's why many tend to favor the 36mm version. But can definitely see how others prefer the sportier look even on a more elegant model.

Wrist shape and hand size should also be considered if you are determining what type of look you are after.

I'm 6.75 and 36 feels too small for me. I prefer the 41 but it does admittedly feel a touch too big.

40 to me is perfect i.e. my GMT or Daytona

6 inch and the DJ41 is the one to go for if you want a modern man's watch, DJ36 is just to small in my opinion

Five digit 16013 on my 7.25 in wrist. I love the look and I have owned the 41. Buy what you like and have your own sense of style.

I have a 6.5" wrist and would order a 36mm. I have a 40mm submariner and it looks good since my wrist is more flat than round. I also have a 42mm that looks okay, but is at the limit for sure. Some people may not like the look, but I like the watch and that's what counts. I wish I had a bigger wrist and wouldn't have to think twice about it.

I have a 7-1\4" wrist.

I bought a 36mm Datejust with a jubilee bracelet. I honestly think it depends on which bracelet you choose. I love the jubilee bracelet and I think a bigger case watch would compete too much with the beauty of the jubilee.

If you choose to get the oyster bracelet, I recommend the 41mm.

According to TRF polls and posts:
) Optimum size for average wrist = 40mm

I have 6 inch wrists. Ignoring the color of the DJ’s, which one looks better on my wrist in terms of the size proportions? I am truly torn because I don’t mind the big look, but I’d like others’ opinions. I’m planning on getting an OP in 36 or 41. Thanks!

I suppose no right or wrong answers here. I have a 6.8” wrist circumference and went with the DJ41. It feels pretty good on my wrist. Tried on the DJ36, it looked fine but for some reason felt small. Maybe I’m used to 40mm and upwards with my SubC Date and speedy sapphire sandwich.

It all depends on your wrist size AND shape; have 7 1/4 inches but pretty round in shape and love the 36mm size on me. Tried the 41mm size and felt too big for my taste

Sounds about right to me. I have 7.25” wrists (actually a little bigger), and I’d go with a 41.

With that said, I have tried on a 36 and think it looks great on me. I’d still go with the 41 though…
