Why Wait till you have passed on ?
I have started giving both my sons the watches I own.

Love to see them wearing them and enjoying the watches as much as I do

Kept 3-4 for myself rest already given to them can always borrow them if I want to or feel like wearing them.

Depends what you have...

Oris should go to the gardner

Omega to the help

Rolex to your friends

AP and Patek to your loved ones

Taking the Egyptian and Vikings burial approach - have them buried with me

Whatever watches are left i will make sure there is one for each grandkid and let them do with it as they please!

I hope my son and daughter would cherish it and wear it as if I'm still by their side.

What are you doing with your watches upon your demise?

Same situation here with no children. If I go first she gets everything and vice versa. Die together everything goes to charities. They will all likely be sold with the proceeds going to assigned charities by percentages of our estate.

Hopefully we will help and change the lives of some other people when our time is up.

Sounds like you need to leave written instructions in your will.

You do have a will don't you?

Very smart. With everything that is unique and valuable, make sure your heirs have resources in a central location that they can easily and readily access to help them make these decisions. A binder with contact info, itemizations of pieces owned, or whatever you can think to help them with the process will really make a difference.

This is my plan as well. Already passed my Sub to my son. I think it’s one of life’s great joys to give something of value (and I’m not necessarily talking about monetary value) to a loved one and see their appreciation. Can’t do that when you’re dead.

My good watches were purchased after the will. I will leave instructions for my wife. If I expire suddenly, she’ll figure it out.

We have a lot of nieces and nephews. They need to do some serious apple polishing because charitable bequests sounds nice.

My husband and I have no children. My one Rolex will go either to my niece or to her daughter, my grandniece. One of my Tag Heuers will go to either my niece or my grandniece (whichever one doesn't get the Rolex), and my other Tag Heuer will go to my nephew's wife. I still need to figure out who gets all of my diamonds...

Each of my kids get to pick one watch and my wife can keep what she wants. The rest will be sold.

That would leave my wife with just about nothing, because she doesn’t drive nor know how to use a windows PC. She’s particularly adept at spending money though
