In March of this year I decided to begin my journey for my first Rolex purchase. I had zero purchase history with an AD. The first AD I visited kind of gave me the cold shoulder/run around so I moved on to another AD on April 1st. She was happy to help me and told me she could order whatever watch I wanted, no down payment, if I was willing to wait. I told her I wanted the 124060 and I kept asking if she was serious and I felt like it was too good to be true, after all it was April Fool’s Day. After a month went by I emailed her and told her I was also interested in the Yachtmaster with the slate dial if she ran across one but would be happy with either watch. I let another 2 months go by and I emailed again to tell her I’d like to stop by (just to show I was serious about the watch) and before I was able to make my way to the AD she called me saying my watch came in. I was in disbelief. Even when she was sizing me for the watch I kept waiting for something like “oh I forgot to tell you, we can only sell you this watch if you spend $xx,xxx.” Anyways, I love my sub! I’m still in disbelief that I finally have one. Good luck to you, hopefully you won’t have to wait much longer.

Congrats! Do you prefer the proportions of one design over the other? I prefer the new design.

Of the two, I'd keep the 114060. Can get another 126610 easily (relative).

Thats a huge outcome and lends credence to simply asking an AD for the watch you want and hoping for the best.

If money is no problem, I would keep both.

I agree, I like the new design over the older one.

I got the No-Date at gray market price and a week later I get the call from the AD for the 2021 Date. For me, I gravitate more to the Date Sub and have to offset the cost of the No-Date. Once I got the call from the AD, I was not going to pass on it. Hopefully my AD can help me with a GMT.

You might need to get spending with the AD or it’ll be your 50th birthday
Kidding I’m sure you’ll get it by your 40th
