Why doesn't AP release ROOs like this but without the tourbillon and 250k price tag? If they won't bring back carbon they should do a ROO in this finish but with a black dial. Or a ceramic ROO.

I'd most certainly be first to buy. Instead they are doing all these weird ass color combinations and configurations.

This is by far my favorite ROO. Congrats!

@raclaims, at the 4 & 8 o'clock positions, is that purely atheistic or is it part of the movement?

And that is the magic question.

The OP will have his own story but in general you first need to express your interest in a specific piece (i.e. ask for one), then you'll need the support of your sales person who will then advocate for you to the Boutique/AP House manager, who in turn will then advocate for you to HQ. At that point you HOPE that a) there is at least one left that can be allocated to you and b) that HQ give you their blessing.

Depending on the model there are varying degrees of discretion that are to be exercised. A 15450 may be within the discretion of the SA. A 15407 definitely requires the Boutique Manager's sign off. Pieces like this one require sign off from HQ.

All of the above can be summarised very simply though: Relationship.

And one more thing. This is 1 of 100. But that's not really the whole picture. This is the first 43mm ROO Self Winding Flying Tourbillon AND it was entered into GPHG by AP (unfortunately it didn't win, but it was worthy of being entered). So if you factor in all of that, then this is a future historic piece. Very cool indeed, possibly the coolest ROO I've seen.

So I started rotating back to other pieces but I keep going back to this one. It's actually quite special and I don't have to worry about setting the date!! Just a nice chrono and a awe inspiring flying tourbillon wrapped in a bad ass titanium case...so happy with it!

I picked it up 2 months ago. Mixed feeling for me but much better than the AP concept when worn.

After the new price increase in Sep and probably again in Jan, we are now looking at $300k plus tax.

No idea why it’s so expensive. Still don’t get it.
