Is it a bad idea to SELL a Rolex?

I have a DJ36 I picked up early this year from AD. These things don't appreciate like crazy of course, but seems like I could sell it for about what I paid for it.

It was gradually getting less wrist time, and then it's gotten almost none since my dad gave me his 16013 and I got it serviced.

Generally if a watch doesn't get much wrist time I have no issues selling and moving on as I don't like to own things just for the sake of owning them.

OTOH, seems like any Rolex (even a DJ) holds its value quite well these days, so as long as I don't need the money and/or liquidity (I don't) seems like I don't have much to lose even if I just box it up and keep it in a safe. It almost feels like cash in the bank these days. And if I change my mind later or want to wear it once in a while, I can do that too without worrying too much about massive depreciation.

Thoughts on this? Seems like at the very least if I want to sell it I should wait until the New Year when the increases take effect...
