Does it have to be a trade ?
Can you not buy the sun & then see how it goes ?

Would only do that trade for a newer 6 digit model. 17 year old model just isn't worth it imo unless like someone said - you intend to sell down the line to make profit.

So after much reflection, I've decided not to make the trade. The main reason is because I wasn't quite ready to part with my speedy. I only bought it 3 months ago and I feel I'd regret letting it go after lusting for it since it came out earlier this year. The second reason is that the dealer informed me today that he was no longer interested in the AT. Proceeding with the trade would have meant dipping into my pocket which I wasn't prepared to do after purchasing both the Explorer and speedy within the last 6 months.

I'm sure I'll end up buying a 5 digit sub at some point, but for now I will enjoy the Explorer and the speedy and perhaps look to offload the AT if a switch to a strap doesn't suffice to keep me interested.

It’s a tough call, but in the end I’d do it. Your AT has already been unseated by your Explorer. And getting another AT and/or Speedy will be a lot easier than getting any Rolex.

I am a huge fan and owner of the Omega AT and Speedy, but a Sub (especially in your case) wins. The only downside, and I think it should be considered, is what you will be left with. The Explorer and Sub cover a lot of the same ground and you may have regrets primarily due to redundancy. With this in mind, an even better trade in my mind is the Explorer straight up for the Sub. Then you have much better versatility left: Sub, Speedy, and AT (it’s more like a sporty DJ than an Exp). Best wishes
