Advice needed: FP Journe Chronometre Souverain or a Rolex Day date 40?
In 2022, I hope to purchase one of these pieces. Both are in similar price ranges, but completely different pieces so it's hard to pick a winner. Here's my logic:
DayDate: - classic, iconic, speaks for itself (vs an FPJ which only one person a year will know what it is and will require explaining to everyone else) - big chunk of change to add to my spend history at the Rolex AD, which is much needed these days. - but I don't think they're as scarce as they're trying to make them seem, if not this year I'm sure I can pick one up in the future FPJ CS: - those who know know. I'll be the only cool guy with one. Maybe a future collectible? - but a lot of money to spend on a brand with not much history (no, I'm not buying to flip but collecting is about value and knowing your money is somewhat safe) - if I don't pull the trigger if one is offered to me this year, I may never get a chance again What do you guys think? Take it easy on me as I know this will stir up some strong emotions but I'm just being honest and transparent with my logic thus far. I'm open to hearing other perspectives. Thanks |
