When wearing a suit, Especially during a business meeting I want people to focus there attention on me. Not some ridiculous looking watch. In a situation like that, You could be just as "blingy" wearing a Invecta. What you wear says a lot about you. Nice - sure, Bling - never.

One could make the argument that any and all Rolex watches (along with other upscale brands) are "blingy" in comparison with more utility brands such as Timex, Armitron, perhaps Hamilton, Seiko, maybe others. I don't get hung up in the "bling" factor of anything, though I tend to think that PCLs, Jubilee bracelets, ceramic and fluted bezels are a little more blingy than their alternatives. In the end, it doesn't matter all that much if you're comfortable with what you're wearing.

I think you were initially correct. If you want to find the real answer, just ask a bunch of friends and family and see what they think. I wouldn't put too much stock in the the opinions of people who hang out on 'The Rolex Forum'. I don't think we represent the 'general consensus'.

It is quite a common approach on this forum. Those people don't seem to have come out to play on this thread, but plenty of posts have described DDs, DJs & Daytonas as dressy or talked about wearing them in dressy situations. I would saybthe OP (in a suitable colour) is about as dressy as Rolex gets, outside of some Cellini models.

PS. Just a little clarification, I didn’t mean to discuss whether a given watch is dressy enough or not. Just the idea that “shinier/bling-er” means “dressier”.

For a woman maybe for a man blingy watches with a suit are wrong.

I've always been amazed why the cellini hasn't been more of a success - classically dressy Rolex and amazing value.

Agreed, I think the shinier / fancier looking pieces go better with t-shirts and jeans
