100% would make that trade, the Speedy is rare, unique and stunning. It also has a piece of the moon in it, which no Daytona will ever have.

A Daytona is well just a Daytona

As to your question. Guess it would depend on which OF model you have. WG, YG, RG and what dial.

Have to agree with this. In this Information Age I doubt there are too many who still fall prey to that antiquated marketing trick.

Get that watch because you like it for what it is worth to you, not because the corporation tells you what it is worth.

The problem with the latest and greatest Omega speedmaster “limited editions” is there will always be more and there have been (too) many. The watch has been intelligently milked by omega for decades with limited after limited (even F1 drivers like Schumaker, snoopy and that other I can’t even recall. I am not questioning the philosophy nor the passion for this fantastic watch, its just that they’re only as exclusive as the next limited iteration that emerges. And mark my words, there’ll be more, many more…maybe bezos or musk could have a hand in the mars special edition or later the Phobos and Deimos versions

Oh wait, let me snap up all the red dial schumacker iterations at cents on the dollar and get internet forums to call it the “mars speedmaster” and sell them at 1000x profit.

Rolex don’t have watches sold under the nomenclature of celestial bodies nor quirky cartoon characters

regardless or it being limited, or whether Omega make too many "limited edition" watches, I would do that trade, it's simply a stunning watch, better looking than any Daytona on a rubber strap that I've ever seen.

I wouldn’t do it, the speedy in it’s default configuration is a fine watch but there are way too many limited editions with relatively limited demand.

Why weird? You can replace a Daytona, there are plenty of them out there, but an Apollo 11 LE in Moonshine, hell thats a no brainer trade, get the Speedy into your collection as fast as you can.

You're right Rolex don't do that, however owners give their Rolex watches totally stupid nicknames instead.

Rootbeer
Starbucks
Kermit
Cermit
Coke
Hulk
Batman
Batgirl
Pepsi
Bluesy
Smurf

etc etc

At least Omega can celebrate these achievements, what is the over hyped over priced Daytona famous for.........? Oh yes being one the most overhyped and overpriced watches on the planet.

Sorry but as you may have guessed I'm not a Daytona fan, Speedies rule.

No, but I would trade it for the Ed White stainless steel reissue with the 321 movement and pocket the change.

Objectively I think the speedy is definitely the cooler watch, value aside.

Would you trade oysterflex Daytona for Omega Speedmaster Moonshine…

I think the speedy in question is a beauty, but based on current prices, you should be getting back a chunk of money your way. Unless the chrono speedy moonshine listing that’s currently up from Japan is bogus.

I do not believe it is a fair trade unless you get some money back. I like both watches but would have to ask myself how much would I wear the Speedmaster as opposed to the Daytona. If it was a lot more then maybe. I would probably be inclined if I wanted a bracelet watch to move into a PM Daytona with a bracelet. Best of both worlds, a Daytona and a bracelet and the value is not as subjective over time. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Omega has “jumped the shark” with their “limited editions” to the point it’s lost any value for me.
