Beautiful watch for folks who love those types of watches. Too much bling for my taste. I don’t mind tastefully done baguettes on some models, but that gmt is a bit over the top for me.

You'd have to wear it for a day to really appreciate it, sounds crazy but it's super fun to wear

My concern is, where do we draw the line on what we consider fake? In my view, even a real watch dressed up to look like the more expensive version, is a type of fake.

I know it's a bit of a gray area, but when you take a 10k watch and add about 10k in diamonds to make it a 400-500k watch, in my eyes that's a fake.

This is a link to the real version if anyone wants to compare. https://timeandtidewatches.com/cristiano-ronaldo-rolex/

Personal preference. Despite what “we” may think, TRF only represents a percentage of both overall population and all wis sentiment.

Daytonas and 5711, both undeniably important watches, have had diamond configurations for years before hype and flash were mainstream. And they were typically reserved for the best WIS clients.

Typically not a fan of diamonds and the bling, with just a few exceptions.

At the beginning i didn't like diamonds on men's watches, but during the last year i figured it out it was because i was still a boy

With all the drought around SS pieces and a significant amount of PM pieces too, i found myself having a look at and spotting a variety of gem stoned models. Just like i don't like all the SS/TT/PM pieces, it goes the same for this type of watches.

I would go for oem versions though, for all the reasons stated by others.

I think in cases like the one presented in this thread, the issue is not that watch enthusiasts hate diamonds, but that the diamonds render the piece purely jewelry and more or less force the wearer to drop any pretense of appreciation for the watch as a timepiece. That sort of thing is going to be much less popular among people who have an appreciation for horology, but it might be completely uncontroversial or even attractive to people who don't. If you like it, I suppose that's all that really matters.

I know in this time of trillion dollar budgets and bitcoins this has less meaning…but every time I think about diamonds I think about Corporations marketing and controlling something that’s not even uncommon as rare and exclusive….like… hmmm

Watches like this get loads of hate and negative feedback, but I never understood why. It doesn't much bother me I love the watch but people are so quick to bash someone's post with the typical "you murdered a Rolex" or a GIF with a cartoon character stabbing its eyes out LMAO.

ANYWAY I've found a new love to bust down watches but I think I'd only buy ones that are modeled after factory Rolex pieces or extremely clean watches

Diamonds change a watch (traditionally more manly) and turns it into jewelry (traditionally more feminine).

And then there is the whole gansta aspect of blinging out a piece.

IDK, I'm just not a fan of being really show-y, and find that for most of the folks that do that are just looking for attention and too much of their self worth is how much other people notice their shiny things. I'm not going to say they aren't real watch enthusiasts because that's unfair, but I'm just a bigger proponent of the stealth wealth, I'd rather blend into a crowd.

P.S.: I find that busted down watches is the watch equivalent of being vegan or into crossfit.

P.S.P.S.: But if you like doing it don't listen to a bunch of fuddyduddies on the internet, you do you boo

Why do Rolex owners hate diamonds

If you’re a drug dealer, . Otherwise that’s gonna be a tough sell for most people. I think turning a tool watch into a piece of fashion jewelry is what most Rolex owners struggle with.

Hating diamonds is acting tough for keyboard warriors wearing Subs and slippers.
