From my experience (wearing a DD40 gold for 2 years), you don’t notice it on a day-to-day basis. The problem with PM is the flashiness/ostentatious-ness and whether you’re ok with that or not.

The psychology is hard to untangle.
I have a WG GMT-II and a PT DD. And when the weekend comes, I ditch both and run for my 16710 and sd4k. |

I love the feel of PM. The best part is when you have something in white gold and they ask why you bought it. You just put it in their hand and their face changes . The only bad thing is that gold tends to scratch much easier

Can’t take the weight. 150 grams or less is about where I want to stay.

OP, I have not owned PM, but I have owned some heavy divers and I couldn’t wait to take them off by the end of the day. I suppose for me, a PM watch would strictly be a rotation watch |

I appreciate weight but don't wear a watch all the time. I just got a PT AP brick which is not shouty but weighs 440 grams. Having worn a pm skyd and sub which are hefty, the absurdity of the AP is the fun and the others feel like feathers by comparison. I like heft but could understand those that feel it's impractical.

When I made the switch from SS/TT to full PM it made my non PM watches redundant. I simply don’t wear them anymore. The heft of the PM is second to none, if you make the step be cautious hahaha :)

Imagine being able to afford the PT DD40 but worried about the weight. Come on man work with me not against me.

Was it worth the premium over the standard RG brick? Very beautiful watch but similar in looks to steel. Whats your experience been?

I love mine but it is heavy. You do get used to it though.

Wearing a platinum day date and a PM Sub etc are two totally different things.
I prefer to wear day dates a little loose and it still wears comfy for me, but on a oyster bracelet you def need the sizing TIGHT. But to answer your question after some time you get used to them all. I can wear a 100gm leather or rubber strap watch to 250gm+ platinum/PM pieces. It all depends on bracelet fitting etc. |

It's very heavy, but with any watch, you get used to it after wearing it for a few minutes.

Yeah it looks very similar in steel and I'm cool with it. Was it worth the premium? Probably not but for me, it was a watch I wanted to get because it's impossibly heavy, a LE of 25 and one came up.

I like platinum on strap but full platinum bracelet is too heavy for me.
