for me i dont like current panerai offerings and they were caught with misleading statements on their movement.

i also dont like their direction of trying to cater to the mass market.

that said i think there will always have room for panerai. they may go through tough times but will still be around.

now is their time to leverage given rolex shortage

EDIT: If I'm honest, the "full" thread on my 233 can be found elsewhere. If interested, Google "Officine Panerai 233" (in quotes).
I did google it and it was a nice review and affirmation of the 233.

Thanks.

It makes no sense that HQ discontinued this model.

I continue to enjoy my 233 and have started to swap the straps just to try different looks.

My initial impression is that it is not as easy to do as it looks on YouTube.

I worry that I might lose the pin that connects the strap to the lug and want to have some back ups just in case. Does anyone have a place they use to buy these pins? I want to get high quality ones, because it would be a shame to lose the 233 if the pin failed while I was wearing it.

Also, I did get a deployant buckle in addition to the tang, just to have something different. Quite frankly, I don't like the dual opening design and find it harder to use than the tang buckle. Wish they made a single opening design like Rolex.

I didn't even realize you took receipt of your 233! I've yet to see one pic of it ... did you create another thread, perhaps? Congrats

Here you go! Thanks for all the resources and great advice.

Let me know if you have a good place to buy replacement lug pins.

In my scuderia ,have the following :

Discontinued

289 Red Gold 233 with dot
249 California
341 Egyptian
671 Blue Bronzo
292J (PIG on the dial 2006)
932 Mediterrrano Edition

Current:

422
425 S.L.C.

I look for classics from the correct era to ad ,although I see future classics amongst the current production models .Select wisely .

The current PAM 1070 Gold-Tech is a beautiful reference !
Will be a practical wearer too, with carbon black bezel.

Sales figures for 2021:

Rolex 1,050,000
Cartier 600,000
Omega 570,000
Tudor 300,000
Patek 68,000
Panerai 72,000

The cult gets Panerai ,the masses wait for Rolex
