What would you trade/sell to get to a Royal Oak 15300? (opinionated/for fun)

Stay the course. Forget about the 15300. That ship has sailed.

If you can get a good condition 15300st, sell whatever you need to. You can always replace a DD.

I think AP are like anti-matter to Rolex.

Style over substance.

The crown is what really does it. Why didn't they just make it triangular?

I'd sell the YG DD, definitely not the RG Olive

I personally think the Royal Oak looks straight out of the 70s, because it is, and doesn’t suit my taste at all. Wouldn’t make any trade for it, but a Patek would be another story.

Had one, hated the big AP logo and sold away..the quality is nowhere the price of the hype market now. Having being able to pull off the crown completely when needing to adjust the time scares me off.

Au contraire.

Currently undervalued.

Get rid of that DD with their current vastly over inflated prices.

I like your collection. I'm not a fan of AP's ,if you truly enjoy the Royal Oak make it happen .
The AP's are excellent time pieces ,just be gentle. Good luck !

Sell the 2 36mm DDs and go for the 15300 as it might take up most of your wrist time anyway.

I'd trade the YG Day Date. Not a fan of the dial. But the 15300 is also kinda boring. So I don't know honestly.

I would lose two DD's. 1 is a stretch (for me, anyway) much less 3.

I have some extra bracelet screws from a Speedmaster. The first owner messed up the heads so I replaced them. I would trade them for a Royal Oak but probably wouldn't wear it. I don't care for the design. I'm not sure I've seen a more poorly executed date window.

IMHO, go get 1 if you really like it.

It will be the last piece for me to part with.

I've never understood the RO obsession, so I wouldn't trade any of those for it. And the only way I ever consider trades in general is if I'm not wearing something. In other words, if you wear all four of those watches regularly, and you enjoy doing so, then don't do a trade. If you must have a RO, then add it, provided all five of those pieces will continue to get wrist time.

Realize something, AP is never going to make a 39mm non jumbo ever again. The 15300 is the only three hand RO ever produced in the 39mm size. Again, the only 39mm RO with a central seconds.

Not only is the 15300 a far more attractive and cooler piece, it is a true collectable.
I agree 100%

What would you trade (ideally only one or two of them) or sell to get to a 15300 or a Royal Oak in general if you were in my shoes?

The answer can also be you wouldn't do the trade or sale at all and you would keep it as is.

*Posted this in the AP forum also to see how the answers would differ
Don’t like AP’s, but if were selling to fund one would sell first the YG DD

I miss the days when you could sell your firstborn.

If it was me, sell the AP.
