Zero chance this year, 12 LV has been out only 2 years. Would say more like 2024 or 25, but it will be back.

Well I certainly hope he wants to wear a mechanical wristwatch in 20 years.

The green watch will never (never say never, but pretty close to impossible) go over the one with the sub-dials. I have a green one so I wish it would if I ever decided to sell it, but nahhhh not gonna happen.

The posts in this thread make it obvious who has a Hulk, who would like to have a Hulk but never got one and who had one and made the mistake of letting it go Yeah, I made the mistake of buying the dud Rolex released with that gaudy green dial and bezel. Count me in the group that still has one

No I believe most of the Rolex models always have a certain hierarchy in prices as for example if the panda goes up then the black one goes up by the same percentage however it’s still around 4,000 below the panda

But possibly the hulk might get a little bit closer to the panda soon, however I doubt it

I’ve owned it three times. I’m happier with the cermit tbh. The pastel green bezel doesn’t bother me as much against the piano shiny black dial. I thought it clashed with the green sunburst.

As someone that owns the Panda and the Hulk. I don't really see why the hulk isn't already above the daytona. I really enjoy my panda, but the hulk is more special AND it can be worn every day. And the panda is obviously in production. The green dial is a lot more tasteful in person than most photos.

I'm not sure about the Hulk hitting 40K nowadays, I think for mint models they are around 30K and some are even less.

The market is unpredictable these days and it is not clear if it is going to settle down anytime soon, I think that since swiss watches are no longer exported to Russia, things might get even crazier as there are many Russians with deep pockets who are willing to pay Grey market prices with no hesitation.

The Hulk is a special peice and will always be, IMO the maxi case and thick lugs is a better representation of the Hulk comic character, however, I'm not sure if it will hit 40k or even higher

As for those who are bashing the Hulk by saying it was available at a discount, guess what prior to 2017 I could have bought any Rolex watch (except for SS Daytona) with up to 35% discount (the more expensive / precious metal the bigger the discount). There was no hype as it is today, and most consumers opted for basic dials / color combinations. BTW I bought mine new in 2016 at 15% discount and I still rock it to this day.

A black dial Daytona is my dream watch. Currently own a Hulk right now and if the prices were to match the Daytona, I honestly don't think I'd trade my Hulk. I just feel like the green dial on these are special. There are plenty black dial watches out there but not very many green. Rolex green at that.

hulk may be more special but cmon...worn every day? its bright green lol. i think matching watches with clothing is the dumbest thing maybe ever but there are times where the hulk will look silly as with anything in that shade of green. that's not a knock on the watch, i saw one on someone's wrist in person and it was nice but i don't think it's something you have in a one watch collection while a daytona absolutely is

Well as I said I do have both. The green is relatively subtle in real life and my wardrobe is pretty casual / sporty. Think dark but colored pants and polos.

In such clothes, the polished surfaces and white dial of the Daytona stand out far more than the splash of green of the hulk's bezel and deep dark tonnes of the dial.

I just feel the all brushed look vs polished surfaces is a bigger factor in wether I can wear something every day over the hue.

Aside from small dips here and there, Rolex prices have always gone up.

That being said, at some point most buyers will just try their luck with AD waitlists rather than paying 2, 3, or more times MSRP.

Unless money is no object - I think we are at that point.

If Rolex doesn't relaunch another Hulk this year at Watches and Wonders 2022, I bet the price will keep going up. Won't be surprised if it surpass Daytona one days as it's been discontinued.

I don’t believe that anyone is paying 40k for a hulk…..if they are I think the watch world needs to take a good long look at its self.

And how come nobody mentions the ‘horrible fat lugs’ like they do whenever the LN 116610 is discussed….very strange.

Fwiw ive always consider the hulk inferior to the real sub.

Before a pandemic last 2 years and not yet finished, now a war with skyrocket fuel price and inflation over the star…

Do you think we didn’t had time already to look at ourself?

I own both as well and I agree with you,my Hulk also gets far more wrist time...The dial is very special and changes shades depending on the light.
For the most part in indoor lighting the dial just looks black to me and sometimes a very dark green..Outside in the bright sun it is a bright green but that can also change when you move your wrist a different way.

I wear mine with any color shirt as well, except for red and crimson (which I seldom wear) It looks great with white, black, blue etc.

The hulk that’s only appeal was it’s discontinuation? If people can’t be honest that it was a very niche watch before the discontinuation rumors started I guess we can believe it is now the most desirable SS.

I guess the assumption is for these people no other watch will ever be discontinued?

Just goes to show, the lunacy that drives folks to pay $50k for a $14k chronograph also drives folks to pay $35k for a stainless steel sub.

The Hulk was the first Rolex I was ever offered at an AD and that was at a discount of around 8% off msrp. I did not buy it. I wish I had it now only because I would off it in a heart beat to some speculator willing to pay 30k.
