Stunner! Now you get to baby it until that first new scratch.
Thanks for all the comments. My main reason for posting is I wanted to have it polished and share the experience as I don't think it impacted anything other than making it look new. It was in really amazing condition for 20 + years old but certainly showed light signs of wear. To me, it now looks brand new and as sharp as the day it was new! To answer your comment Mystro, buzz kill lol

No issues and I apparently caused a one month delay having missed their confirmation email with the estimate...

I don't think it was more than a routine service. The bezel and watch were polished but I did get a call and they told me the watch was in fantastic shape for its age.

I think its great, no softness that I can detect, which is another reason for posting, life is short, dont be afraid of having experts polish the watch as its definitely like getting a brand new one all over again!!!

Congrats!!! Thanks for sharing pics, nice treat as I'm impatiently waiting to hear from RSC about mine. Mind if I ask what the service set you back? I like the service packaging, looks classy!

Old becomes new again. A heartening story as I’m currently waiting for a YG one to return from service with a polishing as we speak.

I honestly don’t think you will have any problem keeping it pristine for a long time because your 20yr pic looked really good. Other than not taking the stickers off, you are right back where you were 20 years ago with this Daytona being new again.

1) That is a super sharp looking dial on a gold watch
2) It’s nice to see a watch get a Rolex professional polish for the first time in 22years without anyone going berserk on the thread
3) I think $1000 for the service is about what I’ve heard, so I’m glad it hasn’t gone up or incurred a PM premium
4) when I dropped mine off at Beverly Hills RSC for a warranty issue, they shipped it to PA where they do a lot of Daytona servicing, so I’m surprised it got shipped from BH.

I agree. I’ll keep up with it as much as is possible. Funny you mentioned stickers, first thing they told me at RSC was the big green case back sticker would be taken off. I never had removed it. For some reason back in the day that was a thing but I don’t remember why lol…

It’s like getting a new watch. I get a sick satisfaction waiting for a watch to come back from service.

That is interesting but yeah, I got some updates from BH and talked to a very nice French lady there a few times. She was the person I handed the watch to in December. My wife and I had a nice chat with her that day and she asked if we wanted some chocolate. I was really excited when I thought it might be branded as Rolex but sadly it was not. Tasted good though lol…

I must admit, I was very nervous handing it over to RSC and worried about it a lot until it returned.

Came out great, new bezel too ? In some of the before & after photos the numbers appear more pronounced.
