I'm with you guys but I think mixing five and six digits in the poll skews the results.

The value of the 126710BLRO really tilts the poll. If the Sub 6 digit had been 126610LV.. it would be closer.

But value aside, the 16710 with 3 bezels and 2 bracelets if had to choose one for a one watch collection, easily wins...for some of us.

I don't know why I'd say GMT because there's not one in my current collection but do have a Submariner. If I was starting fresh I'd get the BLRO because the versatility with multiple bracelets and the GMT complication.

I've already owned a Sub three times and I always ended up with selling it. Next time I will probably try with a GMT and I voted accordingly.

Out of the poll choices, 126710BLRO (Pepsi GMT) or 16610LV (green bezel Submariner) for me.

It came down of course to the 5 or 6 digit thing but the Sub and GMT are just about the same

When you consider some are influenced by value in terms of their choice, if the Sub choice were a 126610LV, it would probably or might increase the results.

But looks like neck to neck.

If it’s a first rolex, I would go with a sub but right after that is the 16710…… the most versatile 6 in one watch!!

Agree. It is the closest watch I have ever had that could replace the one and done of my 124060. Fantastic looking watch and you can really wear it anywhere with anything.

That's what I did years ago and if one watch no doubt that would be my pick!

Prefer the size, brushed bracelet and aluminum bezel of the 5 digits (hate the engraved rehaut too) I'm having a tough time deciding between 16710 and 16610 though. Lean and voted 16710

The most controversial opinion i have though is i don't like having too similar of watches. So if i were "allowed two" my ideal combo would be 126710 blue black on jub and 16610.

I went with 126710 (BLRO) of the options given. If a Submariner 124060 was an option it would have been a tough choice. To me Subs have no dates and symmetrical dials, and GMTs have the 4th hand, colored bezels, and a cyclops.

I have great respect for the 16710, but the quality, appearance, and refinement of the 12XXXX models are just too great.

I think the reality here is that you could reasonably flip a coin and end up with a high quality, GADA, lifetime watch.

There are good arguments to go either way - personally, a sub and GMT are the only Rolex's that matter to me and the only two I will ever be prepared to spend money on. For everything else, there are better options.
