Nice pick up! Not sure I agree with the 'big time' description though to be frank.

Thanks all! Sorry didnt mean to be misleading with the title! I am just excited. I can see how it could be interpreted differently, but its all relative.

Congrats on landing a couple of nice pieces.
I am not sure the surprise that the AD would call you. You dropped some serious money at the store prior (gift for your wife’s b’day and a Daytona), you are already a customer.
Wear in the best of health.

I’ll give the story when I get back home from the AD.

Edit:
A few months ago I bought my wife a 30th birthday gift from my ad. After the purchase my SA asked me if I wanted any specific Rolex. I asked for a gmt on jubilee but honestly didn’t think it was coming. My sa sold me a white ceramic Daytona in mid 2020 and figured that would be the last stainless sports model they would ever sell me since I’m not a huge spender there… especially in this current climate. At that time my wife coordinated with the sa and surprised me with the Daytona. So I honestly thought it was a bunch of fluff when she asked me what I wanted. I checked in every month or so and got a pretty generic response. A couple months ago I went in and got to chatting with manager and sa, and at the end of the convo the manager asked me what I wanted. I expressed my interest again in either got on either band but preferred the red and blue on jubilee. I felt more hopeful after that last convo!

Today I got a text from my SA saying to come to the AD. I showed my wife the text and immediately drove in… only to be asked what models were on my wish list. I couldn’t believe it. Talked about my favorite watches, what I have, what I want, and what I think will be coming out. After chatting for 15ish minutes the sa stepped away to get me something to drink and came back with the watch. Turned out my wife was texting the sa the entire time and Was going to have them turn me away to surprise me later today or tomorrow.

Awesome! Can you tell the story on the Daytona? Seems like you’re on the good list!

My wife basically found the SA’s contact info in my phone and coordinated the purchase of the Daytona as a birthday/Father’s Day gift. Here’s the thread!

My wife thinks I’m crazy… especially when I take wrist shots. So I talk about watches quite a bit and apparently she pays attention and is supportive of this hobby!

New incoming! It’s a big one!!
