Should I even try with an AD?

I want to purchase an everose DD40 this summer and don't have a purchase history with any AD in my city (Dallas, TX).

I'm either going for the sundust dial with deconstructed romans or the chocolate, diagonal-motif dial.

Is it worth my time to visit all the AD's in my area and attempt to get on "the list?" Or is "the list" essentially a story they tell new customers to brush them off professionally?
