Only AD, and blessed to say I got all my SS from them. Total of 9 of them, and total of 14 Rolexes. I will tell you now your strategy is not going to work. Don't expect the AD to give you a watch that has market value of 2 to 3 times retail because you bought other hype pieces. You need to buy Jeweler, non Rolex, and more if you want all 3 from AD. I bought my wifes ring from same AD 14 years ago, and get most of my wifes jewelry from them.

AD will take care of you if you take care of them, its a business relationship. If I JUST wanted a Sub, GMT, and SS Daytona. I would be better off going grey even in todays prices.

Trust me I don't want to discourage you, but at the office I get countless employees tell me they want a Pepsi or Daytona. I explain to them how it works, and my AD appreciates its too. It saves the AD time because a lot of folks are getting mean with them. I will tell you, I got the Batman, and Sub fairly easy and early in my journey. When I usually visit my AD I do see someone in the store getting a Sub or GMT quite often.

100%
No AD will give you SS Daytona because you have bought two other SS Rolex watches. Sorry, that is really dreaming today. Go buy +100k jewelry and you get SS Daytona MSRP at your AD in short time.

Both of mine from AD. As far as your request for a Daytona. Really depends on your AD and relationship I suppose. In Canada that would be unheard of. Getting the sub and Batman here is unheard of. No harm in asking tho.

Only AD here , here’s the order I got em

Batman gmt
Ceramic Daytona
Yachtmaster
DJ 41
Ceramic Kermit
BLRO gmt

I think you should ask for the watch you want and I really believe people gotta stop being afraid to ask the AD to spend 10k on a watch they want next

I Only buy Rolex no unwanted jewelry etc - simply put it’s about the relationship, if you can feel out the situation and you vibe well with your dealer then it’ll go smoothly —. You have to be patient and likeable .. it’ll fall into place

I’ve got all the hot watches too many to list

Only from my AD, started with an Omega Planet Ocean, then five Rolex’s for me, one for my wife, many other items, jewelry and watches. Don’t know where I rank among his customers but I’m doing fine.

I have only ever purchased from AD's / Rolex boutiques. I have bought all of my pieces (listed below) in the last two years and consider myself to be very lucky!

Feb 2021: SS DJ41 Wimbledon dial, smooth/oyster
March 2021: SD DS, black dial (was also offered a TT SD43, but I couldn't swing both)
July 2021: SS/WG DJ41 MOP/Diamond dial, fluted/jubilee
July 2021: SS DJ36 Wimbledon dial, smooth/jubilee
Aug 2021: SS/WG DJ41 Blue stick dial, fluted/oyster
Sept 2021: SS DJ41 Blue stick dial, smooth/oyster
Sept 2021: TT SD43 (this time I was able to make it happen!)
April 2022: TT Submariner SS/YG blue dial

During this same period, my girlfriend also bought the following from AD's:
Feb 2021: SS/WG Lady DJ 34mm white alternating diamond dial, fluted/oyster
Sept 2021: TT SS/YG DJ41 champagne diamond dial fluted/oyster

Building strong relationships and not reselling/flipping the watches goes a long way. Prices aside, I personally don't buy grey because I don't like the idea of buying a watch that someone else bought originally, probably wore, handled, etc. Perhaps I am a bit strange in this regard, but these are big purchases and are very special to me, so I don't feel bad being particular.

Cheers and best of luck

Couple of points

First off I believe there was a thread just like this a few days or weeks back. But there’s always repeating threads about the same topics. Market, incomings, Grey, etc

Secondly, while I appreciate the restraint of all the members who don’t and detest the Grey market sadly for some no matter how long they wait or do everything they possibly can buying from an A D just doesn’t work out. I think sometimes there is the perception that going Grey is the craziest thing ever and looked down upon. Like are you nuts, Omg I’d never do that, and Rolex is only worth MSRP.

For those that do, including me at times it’s not like we/I can make our A D sell us all the pieces we want.

2 previous Rolex purchases AD only. Im put in a request for a SS Daytona, we'll see. I'd consider a OF Daytona that may be easier to get, but that'd be a budget stretch.

All watches - only from AD. But the drawback is that it requires a lot of patience and can’t get all the watches we want.

Majority of my collection is from AD. I’ve been very fortunate to acquire many hard to get pieces, even early on when my spend history was small or just beginning. I’ve got a few older pieces I purchased outside of the AD but only because they have long been discontinued.

OP- it never hurts to ask your AD, anything can happen.

No plan on getting solid gold or two-tone models as of yet (things may change later).

Just curious, is there anyone who ONLY purchases Rolex from AD? What watches have you gotten from them so far?

Also, once I develop a great relationship with my AD (with 2 purchase history of sub and GMT - absolutely no intention of selling), will it be reasonable/possible to ask SS Daytona as a 3rd watch?
Reasonable to ask, if you gave us your full story and history, probably not reasonable to expect.

It may look strange or stupid, but my first Rolex was grey one. Milgauss back in 2007/2008. Was at certain level of demand upon release and local AD told me was not able to affix lead time. So in two weeks time I got it grey with around 30% off list price. Then I got my DSSD in the same manner. And afterwards all purchases I did were through local AD.
